i cant see how anyone can say they actually enjoy using the doff system however you don't need to enjoy it to use it, the doff system is a good source of ec dil xp sxp and other stuff besides, you only need to use the doff system once a day on each character to collect the previous days rewards and start the missions that will run while you are not playing, I am sure the admiralty system will be very similar.

you don't need rare or better doffs to use the doff system and you wont need rare or better ships to use the admiralty system, having said that you don't need to spend money to get better ships, we get 3 free T6 event ships every year and it only takes a few minutes each day for 25 days with one character to get the ship for every character on your account, its your loss if you choose not to take the time to get them and you have no one to blame but yourself.

at the end of the day the admiralty system like the doff system is a game of chance, having better ships may improve your chances for a better outcome but there is no guarantee, I have had as many crit success doff missions with common doffs as I have had crit fail with rare and better doffs, there is always a slight random element involved with all these kind of ventures.

my 3 farmer characters have just the doffs they got from levelling and in game rewards and my main characters have far more high level doffs yet they all seem to have a vary similar amount of fail/success overall, there may be a slightly higher amount of fails of my farmers but not so much as to be outstandingly noticeable.

even given the odd fail here and there overall I find using the doff system each day with all my characters to be most profitable even if its not particularly thrilling.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

i cant see how anyone can say they actually enjoy using the doff system...

You mean pushing buttons isn't fun!? Say it's not so!

While not enjoyable, I do however get jealous of the doffs that do these missions and now apparently other ships....

This is not at all what I expect to come out of the first blog post about 'using your old ships' or to the similar extent said to what was coming down the pipe line to this up coming season. Not surprised mind you, but very disappointed.

Retired. I'm now in search for that perfect space anomaly.

Confirmed by Borticus, when you finish that Tour of Duty mission every 10 days you get 2 spec points for the FED campaign and 30k dilithium for the KDF campaign. This is PER CHARACTER!
Good to know the Klingon Dilithium Force is still alive and kicking.

It's all just pushing buttons... along with a little imagination in some cases.

So approximately 3 keys for a fleet mod = 300 zen = 68,000 dilithium = 8.5 days refining - maybe take it down to an even 7 by selling some materials etc... If you need 4 mods that = 1 month of dilithium refinement. I'd say there's probably much better ways to get ships.

If you read what I said, (I know it can be hard, but it can be done). After three days of playing the game, i.e. the ques, you can make 10m ec just off of RD mats and drops, thus you can buy one mod, therefore in 10 days you can have a fleet ship.

NO where does it says you have to use zen to buy fleet mods, again there is that not reading part.

to your point about using dilithium to buy keys to sell for ec, you could as a free to player use three toons to get 24k dilithium each day, thus reducing that 8.5 days to 2 days. getting 8k dilithium is easy and can be done in one hour, so play for 3 hours each day.

I'm not really disagreeing with your idea, though materials prices are falling fast. An elite run should still get around 500k most of which is the salvage tech. So yes including multiple dilithium grinds your timetable is reasonable.

I'm more suggesting I wouldn't put that effort into buying a fleet ship just for the admiralty system. Surely there are cheaper ships out there for it.

indeed, though some add to the doff system by chasing down certain doff missions from certain sectors with the biggest rewards or they used to at least before they updated sector space but personally I have always gotten most of my doff missions on or around ESD and Qo'nos.
