SFD seems to be the one fleet that everyone else takes more seriously than themselves. They don't even need to say a word anyplace and everyone talks about them.
If any members aren't in the industry already, I'd suggest they consider a career in PR. They seem to have a knack for it.

Mister Tamujiin, Don't take it to heart. The Negativity that random strangers are throwing at you despite you being a pillar of the community with a good reputation is simply the result of hearing from someone who heard from someone who heard from someone who heard from someone who heard from someone that Dental was "Trolls" and that this is somehow "bad". This implied negativity is stuck festering within them, and only time will allow them to see through it. It's not a personal attack on you, even though it technically is... they're just finding a place to focus their pent up anger.
Then again, they could just babble at me for an hour, as apparently that makes people actually think with a rational mind instead of wearing dark sunglasses to blot out the beauteous array of color. Or maybe it's just the Lice from visiting Drozana. Who knows?
Regardless. I hope I was not the reason you think of Dental as Anti-Cryptic. I cannot say if they are or aren't individually. I myself am not, despite that I frequently criticize all graphics from models to textures to polycount to post processing i]especially in Club47. Seriously lose that effect![/i they produce except of course TTC's brilliant ship UVWMapping considering the bad template in place that must be a nightmare and the more recent use of lighting on Old Iconia which are both masterpieces in my eyes. I also frequently criticize their business practices as neither encouraging the community nor inviting money investment, But I'm not running an MMO. Then of course their story writing usually could use more "character", depth, plot development, cohesion, and style, but Desperate Trill's ingame presence has made me hope for the best, and the newer stuff had an excellent message of peace behind it.

Until you can bring solid proof to the table, i mean, stop talking about what you "think" you know, so you don't give yourself a bad image. This is the Internet. Maybe try and talk to someone you haven't had a bad experience with. Come to the table with specific questions, and don't try and dance around like i just popped a disco ball and you had no nullifier on you.
As i stated earlier, but i will explain it a bit differently.... in simple terminology, don't believe everything you "hear" or "read" on the internet. Try and get both sides of the story. If you are going to put blame on someone, bring proof, not allegations.

My first interaction with Starfleet Dental was way back in 2012. I had made friends in game with a player who was getting harrassed daily by Starfleet Dental. My friend told me everyday they were always lying about him, and they were picking on him because he didn't sell them a super rare ship. So I believed the hype and stayed away from Dental. Fast forward to a year later and my "friend" tells me outside the game that he makes his money in RL by selling in game items for real cash. The same things Dental were confronting him about a year prior proved to be true.
If I would have listened to what Dental had said about my "friend" I wouldn't have lent him EC. I never saw the EC again. Nerds of Prey and Starfleet Dental started NoP public service for the sole purpose to stop fleets from charging 5 to 20 million for Starbase invites and Ship purchases. If that is trolling, then you can lump me with them because after myself and 3 of my friends in game leveled a fleet to Tier 5, we have given countless Map invites, and over 100 Free ship provisions using NoP publice service.
This part is debatable, and I highly doubt I will change anyone's mind. Everyone celebrates the passing of someone they admired or cared about in their own way. Their were a number of people that used Disco balls on Vulcan. I myself used over 3,000 Disco balls in all instances. I used Disco balls to mourn in my own religious way, and that is all I am going to say on that subject. Before everyone blames Dental for using Disco balls, keep in mind that their were a lot more people than all of Dental using them.
Now I am pretty guarded on who I become friends with in this game, and to this day, I do not have any Starfleet Dental members in my friends list. During the summer event, Dental was trying to make it a party one night and started giving away ships and other items. As I saw how much people were enjoying getting free stuff, I decided to give Dental stuff to give out, to keep things going. Dental never asked me for anything to donate, but I figured if it keeps people in game happy why not! In the end Dental gave out a ton of stuff, other than the thanks they got from people who got free stuff, they had a PERSON troll them, stating unkind things, that the free give away was just a sham to gain supporters. One of my fleetmates got a free ship from Dental, to this day, I can confirm he has never been contacted by Dental to be a minion.
I have no clue on what Dental does outside of STO, I don't read their twitter feeds, watch their youtube videos, etc. I am here to have some enjoyment in a game before I go to bed each night. Does Dental do things that I don't support? Sure. At the same time I do support a number of things they do. Like breaking up the ERP players on Drozana. I have a number of female toons, and one time I came to Drozana and was treated to a unhealthing tell, something that I hope no one, to include any female players in this game have to see. If Dental is willing to stand up to the pixeled Free Candy freaks in this game, I support them for it.
No one in this game in perfect, I know I am on people's ignore list, I have people on my ignore list. At the same time, people say and do stuff that tick me off, but I also remember that I am not playing a first player game, I am part of a community, in the end, it is much easier to turn the cheek and go about my business then get pissed off at something trival.
Hate or Love Starfleet Dental, it is your choice, in the end, when they are on the forums and in the game, they are bringing a higher level of enjoyment for some people. I am pretty much at the point where I have Dental's back here and in the game. In all my dealings and interactions, they have NEVER threated me or any of my fleetmates to being banned on the forums or in the game, as a couple of other people have.
But you know what? I guess it doesn't matter now does it? By being allowed to visit their studios Cryptic has pretty much signed off on you and your fleet haven't they? They've said in deed what most of us have suspected for years. They're not going to stop you. They're not going to correct you. You won. After long last, you really, really won. STO is yours and no one is going to do a thing about it. Congratulations.

Because i have to go to work now, ( been unemployed for four years ) I am not spending the insane amount of money OR TIME it takes to get that stuff, anymore. I have a family to feed, and kids to raise, and my down time is going to be playing this game. Will they give me all that? Probably not.
I will, though, still be there for my friends in game . And you guys know who you are.
Out of topic, but since the topic is pretty pointless anyway, just wanted to compliment you on the design and say that this is one ship that I'd proudly take command of. That's some pretty good work and style, I reckon if this was in game it would have been one of the best looking ships available. Too bad this (and similar high quality fan designs) doesn't have a chance to find it's way in the game due to Cryptic's policy about private designs.
