Would you like to see a T6 Miranda?

The Miranda is an iconic ship of the Federation, fighting at the frontlines, it would make sense to have an upgraded playable ship of this class for those captains who want to feel like they are part of the frontlines. While yes, it's cannon fodder, it still serves an important role, the T6 variation could also be a more upgraded version, however allowing for a the classic Miranda skin (like some other T6 Fed ships). Who wouldn't want to fly a Miranda at end game!

In terms of small / cannon fodder ship, i would prefer to see this kind of ship in a T6 variation.

No. But then I don't want to see Excelsiors, Constitutions, Galaxys, Constellations or any TOS/TMP/TNG era ship at endgame. (I'm fine with DS9 and VOY ships at early endgame though, but it really should be Cryptic designs from thereon out).

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

There are many ships I don't want to see in STO but they exist as player ships, so that's not really a solid ground to say no! If a human Fed can fly an Elachi ship, why can't I fly a Miranda at end game?

Although I doubt it will happen anytime soon, the Miranda could pass off as a ship with a pilot hybrid specialization considering its small nimble size. Other than that, I see no point in adding it unless someone comes up with another.

Romulans have a t5 T'liss/T'varo, which is a 22nd century design. Even older than a TOS Constitution. So yeah, I'm all for a T5/T6 Light Cruiser Retrofit.

Only if it has 10 front weapons and 10 rear weapons and 15 tac console slots though.

A T6 Miranda would be a sensible way for Starfleet to recover in the short term from the Iconian 'war'. They are good general purpose ships, fairly expendable and very spam-able. Although it's not so good as a long term thing so I'm not sure I can see them being playable ships.

It's already possible to make a version of the Armitage that looks a lot like a modern day Miranda. That kinda solves the niche so there's no need to make a new version of it.

No, but I am in favor of making some of the lower rank ships a t5 variant.
But t6 should be ships of the line.

Miranda is a canon ship. The ship in STO also has attached several modern Miranda-like variant models. In addition it has the canon Centaur-class model. I am all for this, especially in light that we have playable Species 8472 Bioships, Dominion warships, and other non-faction ships to play as, but having canon Starfleet vessels for Starfleet I guess is taboo.

Honestly I would like an updated ship that shares the Miranda & Nebula design language but using parts from the Command Ships.

I'd also like to see those ship parts in a Heavy Cruise configuration too, Constellation/Stargazer/Cheyenne/Dakota style as maybe a Pilot Cruiser.
Thanks for the Advanced Light Cruiser, Allied Escort Bundles, Jem-Hadar Light Battlecruiser, and Mek'leth

This ^. Also a Miranda config ship made out of the Sovie's saucer and Nacelles would be nice.

Sure, it was still in use in DS9... as a tin-can to soak up fire for the Defiant and various Galaxy-class ships.

Cryptic's current treatment of it is right on the money for a hundred-plus-year-old junk heap.

    Best response ever to "it's too old". Though you can toss in "T'Varo / BoP / K'Tinga (D7), Andorian Kumari, Vulcan Science ship, etc. etc;

I think the Saber took over the Miranda's "role" as light cruiser, but it was the Nebula that took over the Miranda's "design lineage" of being "Enterprise Saucer with underslung warp nacelles and something on top" - but with "sensor pod" instead of a full-on rollbar...
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

At this point any argument about it being too old is thrown out the window. Let people fly what they want.

If anything, Miranda would be more like a glorified frigate pet for a Dreadnought Carrier. Think similar to how the Jem'Hadar Dreadnought can launch bugships. If Starfleet had a Dreadnought of comparable size, Mirandas would be an option they launch.

Yes, AND No. Do I want to see a miranda class as a T6 ship, as it was when it was first built or upgraded, NO. Absolutely not. But I would like to see is the next gen version of ship that is directly derived from the miranda. I think it's called Hokulea class? Sp? It has the exact same configuration as a miranda, but it looks like its from the TNG Galaxy class design era, maybe even slightly after that. It's a nice looking ship and looks like it should be still around in this timeline. But then again, there's other ships and even one canon ship that cryptic hasn't put in that I'd like to see. IE: Bradbury class, Hokulea class, Curry class (seen only once in DS9 tractoring 2 other ships after a defeat by the Dominion, Also known as the shelley class), as well as the Rigel class, Yeager class and New Orleans class. But, we'll never see any of those, not now. Cryptic won't put in that kind of effort to put those in.

I'm not sure why people are so against it. I feel bad for the people who like this ship. I mean while your off flying your favorite ship they can't.

...yes and no. On the one hand, outdated tiny trash ship (in the 'to be hauled off as trash' sense). On the other? There isn't a freebie T6 you have access to once you reach level 50, you have to buy or grind all the T6 options. I think a 2410-style, T6'd Miranda as a 'Frigate' would be a decent freebie at level 50 (or make it 60 if you just have to "earn" the ship), but it shouldn't have any Hybrid/Spec BOffs; or at least save spec BOffs for the fleet variants. And of course, comparable ships for the other factions:

    T6 Miranda:
    5/3
    35,000 Hull
    1.1 Shield Mod
    12 Turn Rate
    Dual Cannons
Cmdr Uni, Lt Cmdr Eng, Lt Sci, Lt Tac, Lt Uni
4 Eng, 3 Sci, 3 Tac Consoles (+1 Eng at fleet)
    + 5 All Power
New 'Frigate' Trait Package: Enhanced Weapon Systems (+Energy/Kinetic Damage), Enhanced Restorative Circuitry (+10% Hull/Shield Heals), Rapid Repairs (+hull regen), Reactive Shield Technology (+shield regen, +5% shield hardness)
Unique Trait: Calvary: When taking Damage near (within 5km) of an ally, gain +10% all damage. (stacks upto 5 times)

    T6 K'Tanco
    5/3
    38,000 Hull
    1 Shield Mod
    13 Turn Rate
    Cloak
    Dual Cannons
Cmdr Uni, Lt Cmdr Tac, Lt Sci, Lt Eng, Lt Uni
4 Eng, 3 Sci, 3 Tac Consoles (+1 Tac at fleet)
    +10 Wep, +10 Eng Power
Frigate Trait Package (Same as T6 Miranda)
Unique Trait: Enhanced Ambush: When decloaking: Kinetic Damage dealt to your target's aft shield facing gains +10% Critical Chance, +25% Critical Severity and +25% Shield Bypass for 10 seconds.

    T6 Dhelan
    5/3
    35,000 Hull
    .95 Shield Mod
    Romulan Battlecloak
    Dual Cannons
    Singularity Core
Cmdr Uni, Lt Cmdr Sci, Lt Eng, Lt Tac, Lt Uni
2 Eng, 4 Sci, 4 Tac Consoles (+1 Tac at fleet)
    +10 Wep, +5 Eng, +5 Aux Power
'Light Warbird' Trait Package: Enhanced Weapon Systems, Enhanced Singularity Circuitry (+Sing Charge Rate, -Sing Cooldown), Rapid Repairs, Reactive Shield Technology
Unique Trait: Enhanced Nullifier Cores: When decloaking: maintain +X stealth for 5 seconds or until your cloak is disabled. A high level of Singularity Core Charge will reduced the effectiveness of this stealth.

Should give a very rough middle ground to the popular ship types, while giving each faction a unique trait and T6 that doesn't require being on during events or purchasing.

I am still craving a TOS ship with bite. Why not have T6 Versions of the D7/Cons/Rom ships. They dont need to be nails, just something to work with. Extra Console, Higher ranked Boffs. Better Skins!!!
