Best Exotic Damage set

Hello folks

Need abit of help, I am finally starting to upgrade my gear from XII to XIV and I'm hesitating on upgrading my full Solaene set (Given from the missions, the ships, not the reptutation ones).
I am now traveling in a Multi-Mission Vesta with AUX cannons and the goods, my main damage output is Gravity Well and Tykon's Rift and wonder what the best set is for maximum Exotic Damage. Always thought that the Solaene is the one, but good as well to ask here first before I commit credits and dihl.

Thanks in advance.

I dont have a straight out answer. The Solanae deflector is still very often seen on sci builds. Apart from that with the changes to Particle Manipulator trait many people only aim for 250 partgens now which opens again vast selection of gear.
Regularly heard of are especially torp bonus sets like KHG as there are several torps going really well with sci builds.

IMO the minimum PartG for a good exotic setup is 250. While you stop gaining CritH above that, you still gain base damage and severity. With that in mind, any of the sets that boost PartG is good. The rest of your gear should compliment whatever weapon type you end up choosing (energy vs kinetics).

I think the top Deflector/Engine/Shields combo for Particle Gens would be the Solanae Deflector upgraded to Mk XIV Epic combined with the Romulan/Reman two-set. AFAIK there isn't an A-M core with Particle Generators, so you could go with the Obelisk core for maximum 135 Aux, or stick to the Solanae core.

Look at the flt sci consoles, capt specs and doffs and starship traits that cooldown sci and capt abilities.

The Honor Guard/AMaco engines and shield works for science builds too, since it provides +8 to aux and the engines boost power levels of systems that are set to low configurations. It also boosts torp damage if you have any. It makes it much easier to get to 135 aux, which, for a Vesta whose weapon damage is determined by AUX, can be a decent boost. This would also require the Obelisk core to raise the AUX power cap of course.

Really the big choice is in secondary deflector. Gravity well will apply a 4-5k blast with inhibiting secondary deflectors while tykens applies a 1-2k per second DoT (depending on level and rarity of the deflector) from deteriorating. Personally I go with deteriorating because I can apply the radiation DoT with Tykens, tachyon beam, and deteriorating resonance beam, meaning its up most of the time. And there are a couple ship traits that play nice with tachyon Beam. With inhibiting, youd have to put in Tractor Beam Repulsors or Photonic Shockwave to get the damage proc more frequently.

The Counter Command Tac Console + Turret 2 piece can be nice too, boosting phaser damage and your radiation damage. But its base bonus to Phasers is less than a spire console, so it may be more or less a wash. Plus youd have to be okay with one of your turrets firing green globs instead of orange.

I use the tac Vesta on my Joined Trill engineer with AP Beam weapons... I use the 2 pcs Adapted MACO set (Shield and Engines) plus the Counter Command Deflector. It is nice...
