For me if i was going to hope for a sci-based ship it would be a sci package deal of the Deep space science vessal, Reconnaissance science vessal, and the Advanced research vessal. Than make a triple-pack fo three science themed/based ships for the other two factions.
Where the Dsd atleast for the weapon/cannon that is activated via switching modes maybe make it less that they deactivate an more that they switch weapon typ[e like going from a dual beam bank in sci-mode to a dual heavy cannon in tact-mode. Though the idea of maybe adding a lance-based proton weapon that is active during tact-mode could be fun, but i like the idea of the lance-weapon idea even as a final evolution of the beam array/bank tech becoming like the dual heavy cannons are for the cannon type.
Not sure you would need to boost it to other in game lances as other lances don't by-pass resistances since thre is none for the proton type. though also if you wanted maybe the same as i said for the tact-mode cannons where they switch betweren being heavy cannons an dual beam banks, make it that in tactical the lance is a single-target high damage weaon than that in sci-mode it is more of a spread/cone weapon (almost like how with the Gal-x the phaser lance is a single-target in the seperated mode an a single target weapon in the connected mode if you have saucer sep.)

A Lance on the DSD would be cool but...How too boost its damage to levels like other in game lances..Still think the Rom DSD is purrrdy..
I would argue it's the best looking original Romulan ship that Cryptic created so far.
If you get the version with the fewest holes in the 'wings' I agree. I love the Klingon version's looks as well.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

I've said it before and will do so again... the Dyson concept is *exactly* what a Klingon "science" ship should be. One can that can toggle into an (admittedly mediocre) escort when the need arises. You can imagine the planning discussions.
"We need funding for a new line of science vessels. They will give our Warriors greater reconnaissance and exotic warfare capabilities."
"We are KLINGONS! Science ships are a Federation ruse."
"Ah, but General... these are Klingon vessels worthy of the name. When in battle, their specialist sensors can be deactivated and additional weapons engaged."

... "Well that is acceptable then..."
Some of my favorite ships to fly are Dysons
