None today, but only did CCA event and some Doff Event, plus one FE.
Don't think I've had a single crash this week or last either, so luckily I still consider CTD very rare on my end, however given the amount of people who do crash, I hope this gets priority in bug fixes.
About the DX9 workaround, I just want to point out that DX11 looks so much better, the character faces don't look like pixelated blobs, and I see evidence of tesselation. If DX is still responsible for crashes, it better be priority-fixed already as going back down to DX9 is NOT acceptable. Also, there's a bug where after a few toon-hops, the character faces revert back to the pixelated Dx9 mode. The only fix for that is to restart the game and not toon-hop if you want to, you know, role play in this mmorpg.
DX is not responsible. Incompetence, recklessness....

You seem to think that calling the devs incompetent or reckless (or any other similar adjectives) are going to get them to fix what you are experiencing faster. You have crashes, that's pretty obvious. However, have you ever considered that it isn't Cryptic's doing at all? Have you ever consider that it's the Server Host's doing (in this case, Cogent)? Also, DirectX can cause crashes, it may not be causing your crashes but it can still cause crashing of a game (not just STO).
I understand your point of view. But pls consider this. I didnt paid to Cogent. I paid to cryptic (or PWE, i dont really know). It is Cryptics responsibility to keep the game functioning.
I bought life membership 3 years ago, i buy zen 3-4 times a year. They bring out every month new ships. But they cant fix bugs like defera city hard. It was bugged 3 years ago, and guess what, it is still bugged! And this is only 1 example. 6 months ago i didnt have any crashes or problems, after 2015 5th month patches started the problems. Imho they are reckless or incompetent.
I don't think that spamming the forum every time you crash is going to help you (and it's very annoying, by the way). I'm sure everybody now knows that you have constant crashes, and that you think that cryptic is a bunch of incompetent lazy persons.
But as Blassreiterus said, the simple fact that the game works near-perfectly well for people like me or others clearly proves that if some people are experiencing crashes or other problems, it can't entirely be Cryptic's fault. Because if it was, each and every player would experience the same problems. As this is obviously not the case, some crashes-related problems can be caused by your computer, your operating system, your ISP, Cryptic's ISP, and so on, and start a flame war on Cryptic each and every time you crash will not change that.
As a former forum moderator (though not on cryptic's forum), i can say that post's approval is often a moderation decision for a person that has an history of flaming, trolling or other forum rules abuse. It has nothing to do with concealing some disturbing truth.
I am crashing more often than usual, while I am transitioning/loading to another instance/map since some recent patch. The game randomly freezes then windows prompt advises me to either wait until the client responds or close it entirely. There is no bug report at the end, so I can't troubleshoot it, I don't have an error number, nothing. So I am pretty much SOL.
My issues are very similar. It started after the August 20 patch and has been consistent all along. When I transfer to any toon that is in the sol system/ESD/academy, the game will generate a "not responding" error in task manager and I have to manually end task and restart the game. Gameclient will also go non-responsive if I change sector maps on any toon, not just those in Sol system. As I said this has been going on since 8/20, so it has nothing to do with the Boston network snafu that occurred about a week later.
I think it has more to do with ESD/academy maps than network problems. I have 4 toons in the Fed academy and they all consistently go non-responsive when trying to transfer to them. I have 3 toons in Romulan command center and 1 toon in Klingon academy and they have no problems, just the ones in ESD/Fed academy.
I dont flame and im not a troll. Im just a pissed off customer who wants to play, but can't, beacause they are unable to solve the problem. And btw, the error reporter doesnt appear after crash. Or if it appears, i try to write what i was doing, then it also crash...
And imho it is not a solution to ask a customer to lower the graph settings, or use DX9. I didnt bought a 500 dollar VGA to run the game in low settings or on DX9. Of course i tried it, as i was asked to do, but it didnt help. The frequent crashes started 4-5 months ago. I think Cryptic had more than enough time to solve the problem.
OS X client crashes on its own. You don't even have to play, sooner or later it will granted that you run it.
I of course don't. Not worth the heat produced by the GPU that's overstressed like crazy.
I need to get to him. I can't just leave him out there alone. - Sometimes you've got to makes sacrifices, Lara. You can't save everyone. - I know about sacrifices. - No, you know about loss. Sacrifice is a choice you make. Loss is a choice made for you. - I can't choose to let him die, Roth.
None. Crashed 5 times in 5 years. Try reducing your graphics levels or switching to DX9. DX11 is known to be problematic.
Does anybody know if DX12 works with the game?

I haven't crashed at all, I don't really remember when the last time I crashed, not really a hardcore Grinder, I guess. lol
The Rising of the Delta is the best expansion ever, and people love it to death because it is a good day to die in the endless struggle for supremacy of your own conviction. (A spin off of the Delta Rising is the best expansion ever and all the players love it.)
I tried to play this morning crashed or server not responding kicks 6 times in a 10 minute span. I have seen posts blaming the devs and people defending the devs saying its not thier fault they inherited the engine and dont know it. thats BS i ahve played this game since day 1(qutting on three seperate occasions) all of these issues have been around since day 1
After todays patch, still crashing at map transfer. Very well done, keep up the good work!
They are doing good work, game plays fine for most of us. Making a post every time you crash accomplishes absolutely nothing.
If i would make a post every time i crash, this thread would be 100 pages long, not only 2. And if everyone with carsh problem would post here, it would be 100K pages long. But most people just dont give a f, they quit and do something else. But for some unexplainable reason i like sto, so i try. Btw, ticketing errors also accomplishes absolutely nothing.
