I'm currently plodding through all my C-store ships for the starship traits, but once I get through them, I'll be back in my Oddy. Obviously, with what we see now, there WILL be a T6 Oddy (and just about every other ship). The only question is when.
Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.

add in a Annorax timeship to the c-store, why should lockboxes get ALL the best non-faction ship designs

    1) What do you want the 3 piece set to do? 2) How should the T6 Odyssey look? 3) What should it be called? 4) Should they improve the QSD to equal the Vesta class or better? 5) What stats do you want for the T6 Odyssey? 6) What Boff stations do you want?

    What I want:

    1) Have the 2 piece set from the Odyssey, minus the saucer separation. Have may be an ablative generator for the 3rd piece. May be a beam array set or weapons set. Corbomite Reflector, Regenerative resilient covariant shield array, obviously not overpowered.

    2) May be same design but modernised. May be sleeker version. Same design, modernised but without the dual neck. Remove that square on the deflector dish.

    3) Call it may be Indus class, Hercules class, Apollo class, Athena class, Mesopotamia class, Ulysses class is the Latin version of Odysseus, Vishnu class and may be Whale class.

    4) Yes, improve the QSD to equal the Vesta class or improve on it.

    5) Extra slot added for each section.

    6) Increase in rank to most or all Boff stations.

Obviously do not make the ship overpowered but it should be one of the best ships around.

Umm...I wouldn't say the Sovereign was built to replace the Galaxy...the Galaxy is a completely different ship from the Sovereign...

The Galaxy was built for exploration and housing families...where are the Sovereign was built to combat the likes of the Borg and Dominion.

Commander Uni isn't going happen...Pilot isn't going to happen or more than one specialization seating isn't going to happen as they save that only for lock box ships. Sure not going to see it have more weapons than any other ship in the game.

I'd like to see Pilot happen for the Galaxy-X.

It's one of the few ships we see in Star Trek that doesn't fight on a level plane and seems much more nimble than its 24th century incarnation.

+1 for T6 Oddy. Cannot come soon enough :)

With command powers being as broadly worthless as they are compared to tac boff powers, I really don't think ANYONE would use that slot for command powers. Not to mention how few people actually coordinate and play as a team in this game!
Well you would be wrong. Command powers might be worthless to you, but they have lots of worth to others.

I call. No really, what kind of worth do they have? Could you explain?
Even if they do make the ltcmdr a tac/command hybrid seat, it would guarantee that hardly anyone would use command powers on it. Tac > command right now.
Pilot might be iffy for the oddy as well, unless the inertia on that thing is drastically improved.

I have to admit, I've really ragged on the oddy in the past. It's actually kind of grown on me over the years...

    I need a beer.

Anything is possible I suppose but Cryptic doesn't really break the mold much...I suppose if any heavy ship has the chance to get Pilot it would be this ship (This pack) since one of the ships involved in the pack is Escort size.

Especially since the two heavy ships can separate...it's possible...but don't hold your breath knowing cryptic :p

I still do not get why Ent-F was not destroyed in Midnight. The death of Shon and of Federation flagship would fit nicely in entire Iconian menace thing. The best part is that they could do it, as Shon appeared only in the mission, and is not like Quinn or Kurland a social-zone character. So, the destruction of Ent-F would be nice prelude for a T6 class for the Federation flagship, and would fit into storyline nicely...but they blew it :(

I figured the Sovereign was taking the Galaxy and striping out the no longer necessary frills such as civilian family housing.

The Galaxy has no equal or better.

It exploded if you looked at it funny.

Besides the Enterprise-E was the most advanced ship in the fleet a year after it lunched which kind of implies Soverign > Galaxy.

    sigh....

If the Sovereign class enterprise E had its own series, it would also have endured the up and downs of writer whim.

And yet the TOS Enterprise had a show and it didn't get humiliated like the D was.
Fact is: Galaxy Class starships tank significant hull damage before buckling.

Unless it gets winged by an 80 year starship, then it spins around and explodes.

Where as a Soverign can ram a battleship and only get the saucer wrecked. OR a connie and get absolutly demolshed fighting a Doomsday machine and not only not explode but still be repairable.
The Jem'hardar in the DS9 episode "The Jem'hardar" had to resort to ramming the Odyssey to prevent it from retreating. They shot at it for several minutes, right through the shields. The Odyssey tanked a superior foe, a foe that later would continue to oneshot lesser vessels.

And the Enteprise-E rammed the Scimitar and didn't explode.
The USS Galaxy, in the Attack on Chintoka, also took several massive hits to the hull and kept right on trucking while lesser ships buckled and spun out of control.

SO it doesn't explode if you look at it funny anymore.
It should be duly noted that the Galaxys were the first big ships to actually get into firing range of the dominion battle line. No losses reported.

absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, just becuase they don't mention them getting blown up doesn't mean they didn't.
The Enterprise D itself was subjected to a wide plethora of deadly assailants and negative space wedgies. It tanked shots from a super powerful alien starship (that dished out godly damage per volley) that was conjured up by what amounts to a physical god.

So did the TOS Enterprise and they never worried about warp core breached like the D had to.
She took romulan surprise attacks, tanked the borg and many others.

So did the E and it actually took out a borg ship in a fight.
It was the producers who decided the Galaxy class needed to go. And so they gave her an embarrassing, pointless and TRIBBLE end.

It got captured by Ferangi in birds of prey, really hard to top that on the embarrassment scale.
Why is it then, that the Galaxy has no equal

    Because Starfleet never made one.
Take a look back at what the Galaxy was designed for, and what it ended up being used for. It was supposed to be a long range explorer, taking families with it since it was supposed to go into unknown space and "stay out there" for a long time.
Real exploration. Go where no one went before, take not of everything interesting that later will be revisited by dedicated science vessels.
It was supposed to go on missions that would eclipse the 5 year runs the first Constitutions would go on (simply because of the distance involved). The ship class was designed in part as a luxury hotel exactly because it was not expected for them to lounge around federation territory.
They had families because who would leave their kids for 10 years for one such mission?
But the ships never went out like that. They were constantly kept around federation territory for various reasons.

That is why the Intrepid was devised, the same role, but leaner and built with the newest tech at the time.

The Galaxy has no equal because starfleet realized that the design idea and the idea of the mission setup was rapidly going outmoded by new advances in technology. Scanners, communications, drive systems.

In other words it had not equal because it became an obsolete relic a little over a decade after it launched.

I want the 3 piece set to be 1 console. Workbees are meh, escort craft is pathetic and chevron is ok, but suffers from AI stupidity like Galaxy saucer. Overall, these powers are worth 1 console slot not three. Even if there is no 'NEW' power for the T6 Oddy, I'd be ecstatic just to get a combo power console.
