Just curious, the exchange rate seemed to be calming down a bit, now it is well over 200 (225 just a minute ago). Surely the new heavy escorts aren't good enough to be the only thing driving the exchange rate that high? Thoughts?

Not that it helped much.
225 is high!! Run away!!!!
I'd sarcastically write more but my beer is coming out my nose, I'm laughing so hard....
Seriously, with the new ship and the crafting weekend, this is a drop that deserves more attention than "it's too high!!".
The new holding is cool but it’s progression demands aren’t that big of a deal as far as dil is concerned. For 1-2 dedicated players per fleet it should not be hard to max it out. I think the influence on the dil exchange will become obvious later on when peeps want to get the stuff they can get there.

Of course nothing compared to the 130 mark it was at just over a year ago but the fleet holding should keep it down a little bit provided they don't flood the place with new ships.
It really is the constant release of new ships and lockboxes that pushes the price up as everyone wants the new shiny toys so Zen is in high demand from those converting dilithium.

It's been "well over 200" for almost year now. What are you talking about?
Dil reserves took a massive beating.
*falls on the floor laughing*
I remember when it was 450 so this IS cheap. Economies fluctuate that's the way things work, it's called Capitalism. If you want it to drop to 130 I wouldn't hold your breath. It takes a specific set of factors for that to happen. Right now it's a good place that balances reward for those who buy Zen and those who Grind it out.
The research holding is having almost no effect whatsoever because... few people are actually filling up dilithium for their fleets. Eventually I suppose fleet leaders will suck it up and fill them.
I'm expecting the big market shift to happen when people gain access to the extra trait slots for the research lab. These cost quite a bit of dilithium. So I'm still hoping to get under 200 at that time. If so I will dump around 5 million dilithium. If the exchange never moves I'll dump it into fleets instead.

I'm hardly *new* - I'm well aware of the dil market's fluctuations. I didn't realize it had *dropped* - I expected it would've been up somewhat, I remembered it was in the _50-ish range back in June, so I assumed it had come *up* to 225, not dropped there.
Don't look at me like that, I was on vacation in July. And I'm old, I forget things.
So, right *falling* dil prices, what's up with that?
