I like to admire the art. I'd enjoy some before and after comparison pictures of the Akira. Taken from the same angles.
Off topic, I agree the warp engine of the B'rel could be better artistically interpreted. Otherwise, I feel that model looks fine. Though any extra nacelles that I've ever seen are on the original STO Raider variants. Not the B'rel itself.
I've been begging for art review of the K't'inga for over fours years. But a modern pass on all starships would be most welcome. Assuming the Art Team is given the opportunity to do so.
The quality of more recent graphic art technique regarding starships is certainly unmistakable. I am curious to ask what is meant by high fidelity in layman's terms? Is this the result of a more modern graphic art program the art team has available as a tool? Also, does this mean that the entire line of starship art is compatible with this fresher approach?

Hey, @pwlaughingtrendy, does this mean polishing up ships upon T6 releases is now a thing?
And if so will the B'rel will finally get a polish when it releases?
The Bird-of-Prey is supposed to have a yellow and red over/under impulse and warp drive... those two things on the wings shouldn't even exist. And since the second option for windows was added, they've never worked right on the B'rel, no matter what window option you choose, the "head" of the Bird still shows the first type of windows...
I don't think there's been another ship in the game that's been as blatantly messed up as the B'rel.
We have that one costume from LoR release but it has never worked on fleet b'rels only the c-store version which seems to be non-existent on their list of priorities to fix.
Nice but maybe remake the MOGAI to look actually a LITTLE NEAR the NEMESIS MOGAI model as currently its a huge fanfiction not even close to real looks...
Or is the game fed online only?
This is a nice update to a classic ship and all, but what about ships like the Sovereign and the Defiant? They both desperately need re-modellings as well and T6 updates. I dont know why the Akira is getting a tier 6 update when so many more people have wanted the Defiant, it's a much more iconic ship. And the Sovereign is one of the most beloved cruisers in the game, but no one flies it anymore because the Sovereign model looks so out of date. Please do a remodel for these two iconic ships, they more than deserve it. Oh and a T6 Odyssey would be nice as well
As much as I love the design of the new Akira skin (thx tacofangs), it does not solve the problem of the boff seatings. I really don't need that ensign tac station. That slot should be assigned to another existing station, promoting that station in grade.

There's few other games right now that are releasing good things so quickly that its just producing a sense of sullen resignation that, yah, I'm gonna get that too.
Great work on this one Cryptic.

Are patterns like the one where the canon ships getting screen-quality visual updates when they get their T6 upgrades really that hard to see for some people? You shouldn't be asking when ship x is getting its update, you should be asking when it will be getting a T6 version....

The Excelsior didn't. Nor did the D'deridex. The Mogai? Also no update. The Negh'var got additional parts for it's model, but no increase in quality.
The Intrepid got a quality improvement, but that was specifically stated to be due to the fact that Voyager was featuring heavily in upcoming episodes. The Galaxy and now the Akira have had upgrades.
So that makes three with absolutely nothing done to them, one with minor additions but no quality improvements. So essentially four where the models weren't fixed up, and three (one still yet to be released) where they were.
And to be clear, precisely zero klingon and zero romulan ships have had quality improvements.
So... what pattern? It's not hard to see the pattern, the pattern is simply absent. If you're seeing one you might be hallucinating.
You can click on the left part of the bottom image to actually scroll through different shots of the new Akira-class. If you click on the ship itself, you'll be able to enjoy a 1920x1080 shot of the ship. How cool, eh?

Agreed, 110%. Ben Sisko would give you a steely cold stare and ask why the Akira got it before the Defiant. Still, the new Akira does look nice...good work, guys!
Since you guys are revamping stuff...can we get some interior revamps? I know many of the fed ones could use some scaling down.
The bridge on my Phantom is ridiculously, hideously large...in scale, it's almost as big or bigger than a Galaxy or Sovereign. The engine room looks like a huge cathedral, and though a warp core will extend through a couple of decks, it just can't be that big. And don't even get me started on why the transporter chambers throughout the game are just scary huge beyond all reason...
Thank you, appreciate the high quality re-mastering of it. Like the other ships, they really stand out from the rest.
I can't help but wonder what an Odyssey would end up looking like considering all 3 models I'm pretty sure are the same.
I know, it's again not a Rom or KDF ship, and a cruiser at that, but being outdated by every other T6F/lockbox/lobi ship for what's supposed to be The Fed flagship I think is fair to mention if only for a minor cosmetic touch-up, despite not being canon and out of a contest entry.

Yep. The upper and lower sensor should be glowing. An idea borrowed for Odyssey and other, new designs. But missing from the source of inspiration.

I'll be torn between the new love on the original design, and the new facelift which is the first one I've really liked for this line!

Take a closer look at the new model. It doesn't seem to have that problem. Keep in mind the update hasn't gone live yet. http://images-cdn.perfectworld.com/arc/5a/30/5a30aa9885acf7a987db228c4ab58e881438045692.png
