The scene kinda went by fast, i noticed the tails but kinda kept looking away during it, i didnt know they where supposed to be caitians at the time.
They're not supposed to be Caitians. They weren't ever linked to caitians until an interview where an unrelated co-writer said yes to something he didn't understand to get fans to like him. The people who made them didn't even make cats, never mind caitians as is shown in the makeup tests posted above.
They = the decision makers for the Trek franchise.
In that case no. The ingame Caitians are based on the two from the TOS films not on the one from TAS.
They drew M'ress to look cute, the shaggy one to like me when i get up monday morning, and the other two like hired assassins that would be able to trick/take down Rygel (farscape)
some of my friends who also play sto have been debating where they will take this now that STO has add the alt JJ-verse Enterprise to the new episodes. I was expecting they would eventually change the caitians to bipdals once they got going and they where well off in funding....like the other changes to improve the games storylines.
No. The Kelvin Timeline is an alternate timeline that remains separate from the Prime one. Cryptic have added it because they're not miserable fanbois and enjoy the entire franchise. They also have kept it separate from the main game and have not added any KT elements into the prime game other than what you get from Lockboxes in the same way as the Gal-X or any Mirror Universe stuff.
And all Caitians are bipedal. Bipedal means walking on two legs.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

I see, I thought they where changing it over. Ive also seen nekos running around labeled as caitians on the bio in game, so that helped to further why I suspected a coming addition or change over to the new look. Some of the timeline in STO seems to have aligned to the kelvin timeline so i thought the franchises past changed to accommodate it....they stopped Nero but didnt fix his interference in the timeline after all! But im getting off topic :P

I've also seen them. It's a tailor hack that takes a Caitian (or any species, I've also seen them as Gorn) and unlocks parts for them. If you look at them though they are just cat-girls, they don't resemble the Alien twins from ID in the slightest. They have actual cat eyes and ears for instance.

That however doesn't make it reasonable to assume a completely unrelated species is an already established one despite having literally nothing but the most superficial things in common. That makes as much sense as theorizing that Morn is a Klingon because both walk upright, are non-human aliens and don't talk much.

Again, you miss the point. In the Klingon case the make-up updates were subtle (Comparing TUC to ID is a step too far, you have to compare TNG to ID) and more importantly they were identified as Klingons audiovisually. And the pink blood was censorship to score a lower rating, I'd wish they would have corrected this with a remaster.
My point stands - there is literally not a single indication why the KT twins would reasonably be the same species as M'Ress. Not a single one.

Other than the fact that the producer said it outright.
And even if CBS is the "final authority" on what is canon, they haven't made a statement (at least, that I could find) that countermands Lindelof's statement of the twins being Caitians. Until they do, Lindelof's statement is considered to be the highest authority on the matter (considering it doesn't say one way or the other in the movie itself and the credits list them with the oh-so-descriptive "Girl"). So with that in mind, yes, the twins are indeed Caitians until someone higher than Lindelof says otherwise.

Things I want in STO:
1) More character customization options such as more clothing options, letting the toon complexion affect the entire body, not just the head. Also a true RGB color picker applied to all costume and appearance options, which would allow for true appearance customization and homogenous colors instead of "this same exact color looks vastly different on two different pieces."
2) Bridge customization, not bridge packs. Let us pick a general layout and adjust the color palette, console appearance, and chair types, as well as more ready room layout options.
3) Customizable ground weapons, i.e. The aesthetic look of phaser dual pistols but they shoot antiproton bolts. For obvious reasons this would only apply to standard ground weapons.
4) For the love of Q please revamp Plasma Ground Weapons. They look like demented Supersoakers right now.
5) True Vanity Impulse and Deflector effects similar to Vanity Shields.
6) A greater payout for hitting T6 Reputations. Currently it takes more time and resources to get from T5 to T6 than it does to get from nothing to T5. Make that grind really pay out at the end.
7) Mirrorverse Refugee event similar to AoY/Delta/Gamma, complete with new Mirrorverse recruits for all factions.
8) Independent Faction, because yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me!
All canonically referred to as Klingons withing the scripts and dialogue. Any changes to make up is immaterial. Also, unique to Klingons. Any other races changed makeup can be guessed intuitively even if not explicitly stated due to their similarities (except TNG to DS9 Trills, the gods know what's going on there).
And even if CBS is the "final authority" on what is canon, they haven't made a statement (at least, that I could find) that countermands Lindelof's statement of the twins being Caitians.
They don't need to. He never put this knowledge (which he pulled out of his ar$e in the interview) in canon material thus, as far as CBS are concerned, it didn't happen. Nothing any one says from behind the scenes from Roddenberry to Extra #107 is canon. That's how CBS has decided canon works for Star Trek.

Well somebody higher did say (not that it matters anyway). The makeup department that made the design sheets for them did not make cats so a writer that had no idea they were even in the film until he was asked in an interview does not overwrite what somebody who had to spend several weeks designing, making, making-up, and testing has to say. And they've not said Caitians.

Wow, how did this thread go from a simple 'can we have M'Ress hair and eyebrows added to the game' to a discussion of time travel and which aliens are which in canon? lol!
My thoughts on the Darkness aliens is that they are NOT Caitians. The statement by one of the producers is nearly irrelevant. You have to remember, this is a Hollywood employee. They work on a film and move onto the next one. They could care less about the content and what's canon, as long as they are being paid. They will do anything to promote a current project as it directly effects their reputation and pocketbook (success = bigger, more prestigious jobs in the future and more money). They aren't fans, they are employees. Unless of course they 'own' a franchise, like Gene Roddenberry.
I'd bet you a million credits if you asked this same producer guy today who a Caitian is, he would say, "Isn't that the Olympic guy who got a sex change?"
But, have there been any replys if they have read this request, or any plans, work in progress, or anything from the devs about this yet?? The subject of the thread i mean.
I guess they where feline afterall, more neko then cat tbh...but now that you get to see a closer look at things its actually kinda creepy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rab4ZknoLq0
If any devs are reading this thread, is it possible to add in some more hair and highlights to our caitians? Maybe barefeet options for uniform?

But please, do go on, despite all the evidence stacking up against you. At this point, it's becoming "They're not cat aliens because artan42 says they aren't," as opposed to any real evidence to say that.
I mean, you guys were saying that the makeup department was the "final word" on the matter, and now that we have proof that they are, in fact, a felinoid species, you're still denying it?
Who's gonna be the final word on it now that the makeup guys went against your expectations?

Okay. The make up department specifically calls them cat like aliens despite not making them cat like aliens and they still go out of their way to not call them Caitians or make them look like Caitians.
Oddly enough my point is they are not Caitians not that they aren't cat like, which they clearly aren't tough I'm happy enough to say YMMV on aesthetics.
It's odd that isn't it? It's almost like I'm formulating an opinion based on the evidence that changes when the evidence does and not just taking some unrelated bloke at his word.

I'd bet you a million credits if you asked this same producer guy today who a Caitian is, he would say, "Isn't that the Olympic guy who got a sex change?"

...nope, not going to touch that one ^^;
But, have there been any replys if they have read this request, or any plans, work in progress, or anything from the devs about this yet?? The subject of the thread i mean.

If any devs are reading this thread, is it possible to add in some more hair and highlights to our caitians? Maybe barefeet options for uniform?
TIL that Nancy from A Nightmare On Elm Street is still in showbusiness.
Umm, no they're not. That's the video I got the picture from. They still have no feline features at all.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.

I guess you glossed over the part where the makeup folks very specifically referred to them as "cat-like aliens."

Are you capitulating to the fact that, despite what you think, they are a felinoid species or aren't you?
You specifically said that they aren't a feline species because they have no cat features at all, in spite of the fact that the makeup department said they were cat-like aliens.
Which is it? Are they or aren't they a felinoid species?
