(Rank 7 title) will be demoted in 0:00. Fleet rank 7 demotion countdown stuck bug

This thing has bothered my fleet for quite a while now. Our former leader posted about this, Ive seen other people with similar issues, but its never been resolved - for well over a year. Seeing the new blog post about changes to fleet system I decided to bring it up again, in hopes to prevent potential disaster it might cause with implementation of new fleet features, and, well, to bring back functionality to mine, and others fleets with the same issue.
To the point - one of our rank 7's decided to move his alt to another fleet. Instead of leaving, he demoted the character which started the countdown. Later, he got bored of waiting, so he just deleted that character. However, the countdown did not disappear - in fact, the only thing that disappeared was that characters name in the counter. We hoped it'll be gone when it reaches 0:00, but nope, its still there to this day.
2 consequences out of that, first of all it looks stupid, second, and more important, we cannot promote anyone to rank 7, and our current list of active R7s is, well, very short. Its also impossible to demote R7s.
Please, help my fleet with this issue.

Well simply giving up and ignoring a bug won't solve anything either.
Still, I hope since they are releasing new fleet-related content, they will go about fixing this issue. I would be displeased if my fleet couldnt form an armada, beacause a "dead" demotion is in progress. Its bad enough that we cant restock on R7s.
Bottom line is bug like this don't effect enough people to be worth the time and money to mix.

I gave up on waiting for bug reports etc a week or so ago and contacted Trendy directly (not a bug fixing Dev I know but I hoped she would send the issue on to the correct desk, maybe prod someone to look at it).
She replied to tell me that it was in the works with QA
This made me very happy and this fix really couldn't get here fast enough for me and my fleet(s).

I tweeted at her with a link to this thread as well last week. I never got a response, but great to hear you did as a second confirmation.
