And this right here is precisely why I wish we had some super mods. Because this shouldn't have lasted anywhere NEAR this long but the vast majority of mods have no power in this section.
It also took a lot longer to happen than expected. I thought we'd have more of this in both sigs and avatars from the start.
Well opkossy... we really only had 2 mods, 3 if you count midnight. And I recently heard we lost bluegeek, which leaves us with askray. Trendy's been working overtime lately on Forum stuff I think, and deserves a break\
See, the bolded and especially underlined parts.. are exactly why this merged forum would benefit from having super mods. That way even the games with only a few mods (PWI currently has 3 active mods, but isn't the best example as I'm also currently PWI's most active member period) could be covered by a super mod when something like this happens.
And let's be honest, the instant we saw gifs could be signatures and everyone could freely post images anywhere on these forums, we ALL knew this was bound to happen.
I would say that too, having the current PWE forums become Senior Moderators that cover all areas would be amazing, while having new game dedicated mods...
Please do forward that to the pwe staff

At least some of us have enough respect to not abuse it opkossy. We may have a little fun, but we don't go frickin' off the deep end like the OP did.
And I would accept some super mods as long as they understand the community they are diving into. We STO people can be a roudy bunch, but most of us are nice people. And I wouldn't mind you hanging out here with us opkossy. You've already got a bit of a feel for our community.

The Main issue here is that they are their Signatures... Can Mods Pull Signatures? I'm not sure if that is even possible, but who knows.
PS... Alerted Trendy...
As with banning, that's also a no. Thing is, we can simply move posts and in a case like this where it's only one post on one forum in one section, that's ridiculously easy for us... provided one of us is actually there to get to it. With more mods or a couple of active supers? This would have already been taken care of without need to alert trendy to come deal with it when trendy's already been working extra hard on everything else. As is, it's more time trendy has to spend away from other things that need attention.

Indeed... and that goes in general too... why must the whole get punished for the actions of the few??? :scratches head: hehe

Yeah. It could potentially help quite a bit to make things easier for everyone involved. Plus having more active mods in general is pretty helpful just because they can cover for each other much better when there's more of them around./color]

Oh I agree that some (actually, I'd say most) have the respect and decency not to do like OP here did. It's just that that bad minority tends to mess (Edit: today I learned a tool that has a driver is censored on vanilla. Fascinating) things up for the majority in the worst ways at times. Especially if they're given enough time and inclination.
As for the super mods knowing the communities, I pretty much agree as well. I'd imagine they could mostly stick to their regular games still but would actually come over to assist on other sections when it's needed. Kind of as an "in case of emergency pull lever" group of mods when it comes to having global permissions.
i'm sure in the old sto forum they where able ban the ability to use a signature image on an account by account basis.
It was an admin ability. Mods did tend to alert admins fairly quickly and you guys sound like you had some good ones to take care of it. For PWI, we've lacked a CM for the past while, but our mods typically keep things clean enough and the community, jaded as they are, generally behave themselves well enough given light reminders now and then.
I would suggest moving this line of discussion to its own thread. This is kind of keeping the thread in view, and the discussion will be curtailed anyway when the thread is locked/deleted.

Actually, part of my goal was to get this to at least a page 2 so that anyone touching in without adblock at least had a chance to miss the first post and that issue with it.

It's a poll. And that makes it flypaper to attract people to go to page one.

Depends on how many have already realized polls are only visible on page 1 here instead of having the poll question and option on any page like it was on vBulletin. That and stuff like people who check the most recent posts first and so on. Still better than a guarantee that people would get hit with that sig because the thread only has one page. At least, in my opinion which may be completely wrong.
Thanks, though. Figured at least I could try something while folks were still actively posting in here.

I don't think it works that way, don't you need to repeat the name three times?

That gif is basically a STO forums tradition! It can't not be in a thread soon to be locked.

I believe this is fitting for us defenders of the forums.
