Crashing on powerboard race

Each time I complete the powerboard race now my game crashes.

i turned all of my graphics settings down to medium levels and i've not had the issue for another 10 races.
apparently they tried to fix some of their graphic issues as part of the patch/network fix, if you're still having problems in a specific area then they haven't got to it yet.
