Multiboxing STO

Im looking for someone who is successfully multiboxing or has set it up fairly recently. Anytime I attempt to start a second instance of the game, a Crypticerror window pops up saying it crashed.

    What is your computer specs? Unless you have a good computer, lowering the video game quality to the minimum is necessary.

    Windows 8.1
    Intel i7 4790k
    32 GB DDR3
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780TI

    The Event Viewer in windows shows an NvStreamSvc error, which after googling indicated Nvidia. So Im guessing the problem is related to the graphics card. However, I can multibox other games no problem.

    Are you running the game in windowed mode? Tabbing out when set to full screen really makes the game client extremely tempermantal and unstable unless in windowed mode. You also need to disable the reduced CPU usage when tabbed out as that causes the client to crash as well. As already mentioned, a very good PC helps significantly.

    I have tried both Windowed and Windowed Maximum. "Reduce CPU/GPU usage" is set to off. There is also a "Limit CPU usage when inactive" This is set to on.

    Other thoughts?

    I can run 4 instances of STO in my PC, I have an A8 3.0 Ghz, and 8 Gb of ram, and a mobile radeon r7, no problem so far, fullscreen or windowed in windows 10, also did it in 8.1.

    All those instances were set in 800x600, and mostly to donate stuff to my starbase, with my son, brother and nephew accounts... thou once I used it for a private instance on CC, it was fun!!

    It actually is okay because Multiboxing != Botting.

    How so?

    Assuming you meant against the TOS (because there's nothing even remotely illegal about it), so long as you're actively controlling both accounts individually, there's nothing that should be a problem with it. I've mutlibox'd the same account on live and tribble before, or different characters on live before; and the game works just fine for me.

    The only way it is illegal is if it is used for gold farming purposes, griefing, trolling, or other nefarious purposes.

    Wasn't there something in the TOS about one person registering multiple accounts being a no-no? I skimmed over it just now and couldn't find it, but I could've sworn I've read that somewhere.

    I had heard that having 2 or 3 is permitted, but forgot where I had come across that information, probably some random game channel.
