Well, I saw it last night and it was better than I expected. They will obviously never beat the original, but this was definitely an improvement over the last two sequels, IMO.

What's funny is that until recently, I didn't even know they had more movies after the first Jurassic Park. AMC was showing a bunch of them recently and I had no clue WTH they were. Seems they came out at a time when I was in a phase of my career taking me to some far off places.
Also, I think this would have been a perfect post credits scene...
Note, this is not really a spoiler, because it's talking about something that *didn't* happen in the movie, but I just want to give fair warning anyway:
I saw it the other night. To me it was awesome. Better than the 2nd and 3rd movie. Also it gave me the similar thrill and enjoyment as the first. Very well done for a movie for the 4th sequel. I thought the story, action, and actors/actresses did well.
As a fan of the Jurassic Park series. I will own it soon as it comes out and added to my collection.

My thoughts (before approaching the cinema next week):
From what one can see from the trailer, my main conclusion is, that they spent millions of dollars on special effects and about 2 dollars on the story.
Yup. And in today's age... CGI is not that exciting for the sake of it. Even if the dinos looked good, they weren't that special. It kinda is like in the movie itself - people are getting "bored" by dinosaurs. But the movie didn't offer anything better, and it seemed to "carefully" avoid what, say Avatar tried to do - create a sense of wonder. At no point in the movie did I felt in awe of the park. Maybe that was intentional, but again - nothing in the movie did anything to pay that off. If it had a deeper or at least more intelligent story instead of just "these people do the dumb stuff they need to do because it's the only way we could think of getting them into trouble".
Seriously, I don't expect that much from a plot in a CGI-laden movie. Sure, the story might not have been original in Avatar, but the characters seemed to act a lot smarter (heck, and possibly even a bit more nuanced) then in Jurassic World.

All the dinos were naked. Where were the feathers I was expecting? I need feathers!
Well... Jurassic Park III only showed the male raptors had feathers. The Raptor Squad in Jurassic World were female. Also the I. Rex was female, Rexy was the same T. Rex from Jurassic Park apparently...

I wish I could see Jurassic World... I'm in the middle of nowhere and our theater is playing things like Hot Pursuit and Pitch Perfect 2.
