Beside, the Moebius and the Wells are the sole box vessels that i desire for a while. I have simply no interest in the others, even the very reputed adapted Tal shiar. Same for the T6 in the zen store, they have nothing that could make me buy them.
Wow, this is getting scary. Do you remember I said before I only ever sprang for two lockbox ships? One was the Mobius for a temporal build and delta tac captain and the other was an adapted destroyer for my tac romulan. Can you read my mind? (Tightens tinfoil hat. ) BTW if you ever take the plunge its a good ship too. One it has a cool bridge (perfect for liberated borg Roms). Two its warp core moves at transwarp all the time in sector space which is extra useful now that it is merged and Three its sometimes quite cheap on the exchange. I got mine for 60 mil during a glut after the all lockbox drop event. If you keep watching its price will sometimes drop back to this price.
But if one day there's a temporal T6, maybe i will consider it if it's nice.
*cough* *cough* See my previous inuendo about the info on that next crate full of goodies we're not supposed to know or talk about. The one I said I'm saving my keys for. *cough* *cough*

Frankly speaking me too i don't get the T5-U snobbery.
Uhh its not snobbery its common sense. T5 isn't get any more development. T6 has a future. Wells might get a T6 replacement, you'll get 0 credit for the T5 you bought. T5 is a waste of money.

You do realize a T5-U is just as powerful as a T6 right? Its just the trait thats missing. A trait you can use with a T5-U when you slot it. And since some ships don't have a T6 version, common sense says to buy the ship you like rather than the ship that is shiniest. Do you think T6 ships that have already been released get new development either? Once its out its out, and thats true for all ships C-Store and Lockbox T1-T6 alike. And as I said in my previous post I'd pit a T5-U Mobius or Scimitar against any T6 ship.
EDIT: As for a T6 Wells, there may be a T6 next R&D Promotion or there may never be one. No one knows. But if it did come out OP would have two troubles. First the T6 would probably be selling for outside his price range (As the current Wells is too expensive for him for now) and two due to 3 piece time set speculation the cost of old Wells and Mobiuses will have skyrocketed meaning he will never have any chance at all. All things considered the T5-U is plenty powerful and with mastery equal to a T6. The only thing stronger is Fleet T6 (By a small margin) and there are NO Fleet lockbox ships. According to devs thats because they are supposedly at fleet level in most respects.

You do realize that T6 is still getting development? T6 fleet? Specializations? T5 is dead man walking, if a T5 ship hasn't been replaced by T6 yet it will be

The edge a Fleet Ship gives over a standard one is small if you have good gear and a strong build. I have never wasted my money on a Fleet ship and my DPS is plenty formidable. As to the development bit, see my post again. Once the ship goes live development on that ship is done. The only exception is the Sheshar and that may or may not have been a one off. Only time will tell, especially since people who had the old version already got all angry about the new option.
As for a T6 Wells, see the edit to my last post, I wrote it while you were responding so you probably did not see it.
Well, time for bed. Good luck OP, it sounds like you already know this but I'll say it again anyway. A ship's most valuable asset is how much you like it. And any well built and geared T5-U can stand toe-to-toe with a T6 no matter what anyone says. Thats not bravado its experience. Good night all, or good day if your on the flip side.

The difference between T5U to T6?
Starship Traits
13 BOFF skills at T6 vs 12 at T5/Fleet T5U
The 13 BOFF skills is a big deal. More skills to make your ship better. It's a game changer.
How people blindingly state that T5U = T6 is amusing to behold and never gets old.
I like how people I know despise T6 but when I see them in their T5U ship, I see those Buff Icons coming from T6 ships.

Let's have this discussion again when I have a T6 Defiant, Until then, my Main still hammers in a T5U Defiant in endgame.
I made a thread about this YEARS ago...but I always thought a Temporal Carrier would be great fun. It could launch Aeon's as pets...not with Manheim and Tipler Cynlinder abilities, but with chroniton torpedoes and antiproton beams.
The carrier would be T6 and have some special console...maybe opening a temporal rift, creating a temporal field that would allow COMPLETE protection against energy and kinetic damage for a shor time, allowing total shield penetration against enemies (like a flux torpedo)...maybe the three piece set would allow the past duplicate not to effect you when destroyed.
Regarding the original topic, I find that the Mobius and Wells just don't quite feel complete without the Temporal Warfare set. Granted there are far better weapons and such, but I can't help but also think that aesthetics and 'style' have to count for something too.

That would be a great idea and would make the manheim actually usefull. Still, call me a cynic, but I imagine such a ship would be too expensive for me and many others. Still I'd love to see it in game.

Um... No. First I never said T5-U was statistically equal to a T6 or Fleet T6. What I said was that in the field with a good build they can stand toe-to-toe with even DPS and survivability odds. The increase in Fleet HP is marginal and if you are down that far on health with no heals left than your probably dead anyway. As to Boff powers, there are only so many worth using and with cooldown overlaps it diminishes the added value. Which is the same for their extra console slot (on fleet) as you might have an extra AP Mag regulator, but thanks to diminishing returns as they stack, once again the difference is marginal.
And finally, if you read the topic we are discussing the temporal ships, and the original comment was that they were useless being T5/T5-U. Since OP wants and has temporal ships and there are, for now or possibly ever, no T6 Fed timeships and there are never any fleet lockbox ships (as lockbox ships are supposedly fleet level; not my words but a devs years ago) bringing such things up is moot for this discussion.
EDIT: P.S. You probably mean other people from your own fleet, but just in case you mean me, I don't despise T6 ships, My main flys a Fed Tactical Command Battlecruiser, designed to look as close to a "2410 Excelsior" as the game allows, mixed with those typhoon-like nacelles. :P Not to mention I don't miss out on Mastery traits on my alts with T5-U as I just grind out the traits, slot them, and then switch back to ships I prefer.
As Zephram Cochrane once said, "That'll do, pig. That'll do." - April 1st 2015.
Hello again, I know that’s an old topic now but I felt that’s unnecessary to create a new one.
I managed to acquire the Wells, so now I can say that I have all the Federation temporal ship. Next thing to do now is too reach the Tier V Dyson and Iconian reputation to be able to have a decent AP set up to pair with the Temporal Warfare set.
Unfortunately I have no access to any fleet stuff, thanks to Cryptic to not have designed the fleet system for very little fleets…
Anyway I was glad to find that the Wells too can have the paints unlocked with the Mobius and the Aeon, which was never mentioned in the sto.gamepedia.
As there are not really any pictures of these alternate paints on the sto.gamepedia., I took some to show them (excuse the bad quality):
Mirror Universe (with standard Wells windows):
[img][/img]
Mobius (with standard Mobius windows):
[img][/img]
Wells (with grey Wells windows):
[img][/img]
If I was more or less aware of the fact that the temporal ships can share their paints, the possibility to unlock the normal Mirror Universe paint was a nice surprise as it was never mentioned anywhere,
making these ships the sole T5-U Mirror Universe vessels in my knowledge (ok technically it’s only the Mobius but having the Wells is a nice add).
Now that I paid attention to it, it’s sad to see that the others T5 Mirror Universe ships are not capable to be T5-U and will never likely to be.
Well now I know what to buy at the next discount: The Mirror Universe uniforms.
Not only my Caitian is now fully temporal themed, but now I can have him fully Mirror Universe themed too (or rather Temporal Mirror Universe).
Now that I think about it, what could be a Caitian from the Mirror Universe?
Useless post I know, but I just wanted to share my joy to have reached a goal which seemed unreachable 3 month ago: Having all the temporal ships, uniforms and temporal warfare set.
I believe they also stated they were going to fix the Mannheim Console so it wouldn't end up being more of a detriment than a positive help.

I've been playing around with a Wells, too. I love the ship, but after trying to use it for a while, I decided to drop the Temporal Disruption Device in favor of a Crystalline Energy Torpedo. The TDD is very cool, and very satisfying when it hits a target, but I found that it got shot down far too often, or (almost worse) that I had destroyed the target by the time the TDD arrived. The CET hits quite hard, thanks to the +AP consoles I'm already using to boost the other weapons.
The lobi set is not exactly outstanding for DPS. It is quite outstanding for the theme. One item I would note that others have not mentioned is that the set - particularly the Dual Beam Bank - is stupidly expensive to upgrade. and not especially worth it. The console, yes, the rest...not so much. get the full set if you are so inclined. I do recommend it! I have considered dropping the torp though - too slow and the grav torp makes up for it. your mileage may vary. it does offer a very nifty 3 piece bonus.
some other bits and bobs: (note I have a science alt that uses more of the wells, less of the moebius, and I present from that perspective and I am repeating myself from above)
1) Iconian rep....yes do it, and get the set, synergizes very well with the temporal set. I do not use the torp from the rep set, but the console gives a flat +10% damage, on top of the ancient tech sets +10% for AP. it is functionally an AP version of the rom rep set at the 3 piece level.
2) obelisk warp core + Ancient Omni....not bad, optimizers may be able to cite [AMP] being better, but I like it, and you can combo with a crafted AP Omni for near full weapons able to fire at all angles. nearly. If you go beams. Cannons I stink at, so I got no advice there.
side note: aside from the simple pain in the rear of getting the ancient tech set + iconian rep items, it gets remarkably cheaper to outfit the hull going AP for weapons. temporal (2 wpns) +iconian (1 wpn) + ancient (1 wpn) you are at 4 out of six...add in borg cutting beam, you only need to find 1-2 more weapons.
3) on the whole T-5u vs T6 stuffs...I am not impressed with the T6 science ships, and I do not like them, which is odd because I noticed the wells is very close to the scryer. <shrug> I traited up and then hopped back into my wells/moebius. not sure how I would look at it from a tac/eng perspective (note: the T6 cruiser traits play well with the temporal ships)
