If any of you follow the Wizardy one on Twitter twitter.com/LaughingTrendy you'll know she has set us a challenge of sorts to find the hidden message(s) hidden within the Blogs she has posted since joining STO/PWE.
After some very big teases she has suggested we help each other try to break her code...
I have spent the best part of 3 hours going through the blogs and I hate to admit it she has me stumped so can any of you find her Cryptic Clues to decipher her secret message(s)?!?!?
Something else I noticed but have not yet been able to put together, is that some blogs contain
100-1000 110-1001 in the ovals.
This is binary for "Hi," capital H, lowercase i. This may be an indication that the blog is relevant to the code, or it may not. Answer to that question would be a nice hint!
The photo with the borg cube may be a reference to Borg Disconnected, a dev blog from 2 Septermber 2014. This is after the secret agent man blog, so it may or may not be the beginning of the trail.
The elements in this blog are VMN-921 and 423-112B and 192-41C8
It's unclear if we're just supposed to look at the letters, or if perhaps the numbers are meant to stand in for letters, or what.
Actually.. I'll be damned, you found part of it. Granted it's in the middle and part of a sequence. So realistically it would show up as jibberish. Whether or not you found it by pure accident, it's notable.
Unfortunately the links to graphics on some of the old blogs are broken. If the code is contained in the graphics, this could hinder the search.
I'll double check tomorrow but when the CDN crashed and ate a lot of the images, I am almost positive none of the easter eggs involved in the long chain were in there. Only a couple single instance ones.
I've been trying to get all the letter prefix things in chronological order.
Naw, that's not how this one works. Good thought though; props to the creative variable construction mentality. The problem is it lacks the direction of the first instance -> second instance -> third instance -> etc. Without following that it, it reasonably won't make a lot of sense.

Also, let me clarify another point. I meant for this to be really really hard. Like, hard enough that I kinda expected it to not be solved for a long time (or at all). I have fun building these, I've done it a lot, and I've gotten good at it. This may be a challenge to you, but for me it wasn't meant to be easily solved in one quick go.
I guess what I'm saying is goodluck. You'll need it.
i usually try to avoid social trollworking sites like a plague, after scrolling through the endless amount of "tweets", any chance of linking the clues?
its more likely to fry the remainer of my brain cells trying but what the hey :P.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

I'm terrible at finding these kinds of hints, and like mirrorchaos I tend to avoid the big social media outlets like Twitter and Facebook. Figured I'd look at that image of the Bat'Leth Trendy posted a few days ago, maybe something would show up. Unfortunately, nothing popped out at me other than the fact that there was a Bat'Leth and a pair of allegedly dead Tribbles (also a Nerf gun).
The universe has a wonderful sense of humor. The trick is learning how to take a joke.
Isn't it pretty easy to break trendy? Just lobby to get coffee listed as a forbidden substance.
If America could do that for alcohol... :P
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

actually some of that looks like hexadecimal. Ignoring the VMN-921, the rest becomes 1059-4395 402-16840 when converted to decimal. I don't know if it's helpful or not, just an observation

If you look at those as maths equations;
1059 - 4395 = -3336
402 - 16840 = -16438
Then free balling if you subtract them from each other they give you 13102, could that be a date? Using American date style it'd be the 31st January 2002. Star Trek Voyager episode 'Future's End Part 1' first aired on that date.
Related, or massive coincidence?
Join date is wrong, I've actually been around since STO Beta.
True alters don't have a "main". Account wide unlocks for all unique event rewards!!
However, stopping the browser before it redirects gives me a chance to look at the source code. This shows a second paragraph that was initially not noticed:
We get SCRT AGNT MAN. Trendy said this was just a fun easter egg though, and not part of the secret trail.

This is all starting to remind me of the logs regarding the concealed codes emanating from SCP-270, the Secluded Telephone, at the SCP Foundation site. If you uncover information that prevents an XK-class End-of-World scenario, I think I might scream.
be funny if the iconians had legions of hakeev clones stashed away somewhere, because we all want a notorious storyline villan for cannon fodder later in STO...
I think I'm on to something with the hex stuff, but I think I should have went to binary. When translated to binary, it becomes
100 0010 0011 0001 0001 0010 1011
and 1 1001 0010 0100 0001 1100 1000
I'm just not sure how to go about translating that into ascii because once you get past 100 0010 = B it gets more and more shaky and I don't know what to group together. Anyone have any thoughts?

Though I do like the date connection to Future's End.

She could just be trolling us. This is Trendy after all. :P
Nah. . . although I would die if she was. .
Naw, this actually was a thing I built over the course of many months. I'm the kind of person who loved ze?t afterall
All I have found - little as it is - i have compiled there.
This is getting interesting. . . . .
The fact the image it linked to is the one used for patch note dev blogs, I'm now sifting through the html for all recent patch notes.
Should probably be going to bed though really considering it's 4AM. Damn you Trendy!
Ok, since you insist.
I'm really intrigued as to what you're up to here.

So not had chance to look at anything today and just wanted to see if we had any new developments?!?
Or if the Wizard has dropped any more hints
100 0010 0011 0001 0001 0010 1011

I could go and look through them I suppose. What's the earliest appearance of the code we know of?
