No new activities for Risa? :(

As the title says.The blog mentions no new activities, just the old ones.Is the war really that demanding that the devs have had no time to create a couple mini games for an event that they had a year to prepare for? :(

Will there be nothing new this year to buy with my favours?No new special gear to grind for?IMO this is really disappointing, puts quite a damper on the fun.

    ... looks "new" to me (maybe linked to some new activity) ... so unless it's just a "Risian Shirt - Store" or something ...

    PS : If you're "just" looking for something to spend Favors on ... Risian (maybe "Hawaiian") Shirts are already in the Blog ...

    They could have created that jungle area where T'pol was chasing those fugitives making a thick brush jungle pvp event lol.

    Thing remember too is that thier schedules are tight so doing anything that is iffy at possibly not making money would get knocked off quickly. So basically if it wasn't schedule a year ago to make a new event you won't see one till the next year and even then is unlikely. It is probably safe to say they are working on a season 11/next lockbox right now and whatever T6 ships they planned on having.

    Although I don't have any ferrengi characters and not really enticed to be motivated to go after a warship that comes from a hospitality committee lol. Only reason I would have to patch up really is my oldest daughter she loves the water race thing. Wish them luck and all that stuff with it but yeah its kind of bland and boring to me after the design is to grind it after you get burned out with it and the game its not really worth doing.

    This was just the announcement Dev Blog saying that the event is coming. They always have follow up blogs that go into more detail.

    Where do you see "DOOM" in this?Did I say the game is ending? Did I say that I would boycott Risa and the associated blah blah?Did I say that the event is a failure?

    You're already starting a "disappointed" thread to bash the event a week before it starts, and before knowing if it will include space unicorns and free candy:
    IMO this is really disappointing, puts quite a damper on the fun.

    Why not wait a week, read the big reveal blog with more details, then cry doom / disappointment?

    We get enough complaint threads about actual problems, do we need threads bashing might-be maybe-problems before knowing if they exist? The initial pearls reveal was a valid time for pitchforks and torches where people did have enough information, here we don't know yet.

    Not much has been announced yet so I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

    But really, if that’s all it would pose no problem for me. Less new activities and less new stuff to get means less grind in the end especially for things you can use on only Risa anyway.

    Look at the bright side, more time to relax and enjoy the vocation and/or not so much distraction from the many, many other things to do in game.

    I probably get one of the T-shirts for one of my older toons and swimwear with flowers for my delta recruit. Think not all alts have floaters as well yet.

    I really think I can live with it and would actually like it if the Devs put their effort in other parts of the game which aren’t only accessible only for a few weeks per year.

    I still look forward to Risa but would also like it if the rest of the game isn’t deserted totally for the next few weeks because of it.

    indeed, but you got less than two weeks on the event, likely pushed back from almost 3 weeks because of the FE last week that is to be released tomorrow.

    although i do not expect too much because of time limitations. im wondering though if perhaps alts are apart of the collection process?

    in any even as others stated, wait until more details are forthcoming.

    The T shirt, if it's like a Hawaiian shirt, is a great idea. Another event would be nice, I guess, but regardless, Risa is a fun place to hang out.

    I always thought it would be cool if they could open up one of the islands in the distance too, maybe for some special event, or as a nature preserve or something. That's probably too much trouble though.

    dont see what difference it would really make adding zip lines or no. you would still be travelling around one way or the other.

    Considering I was only active for the 2013 Risa Event, the first one, there's plenty for me to do this time around even if there aren't any new mini games, so I'll be set in this summer event anyway.

    To me the whole ''map restricted outfits'' only reinforces my belief of Cryptic not liking it when we don't play the way they want us to play, among many other things.

    To give another example, no matter what Cryptic says, the whole reputation nonsense was not a step up from how we originally got our Omega Force/Borg gear, I could outfit one ship with basic anti-Borg weapons in a few elite runs, basic being Mk X, with no dili cost or timegate, now it takes 10x as long and costs a hundred times as much.

    Yes, that's right. Cryptic doesn't like it when players don't play the game as they designed it, just like any developer doesn't like it when players don't play their game the way they designed it. I'm not seeing what the issue is here.

    Or how about a "find out where your kids ran off to because it is time to leave" contest?

    Or at least a one father bringing his child and 4 of his child's friends and 20$ in cash "herding" game.

    How about a child in a non-swimming diaper in a wading pool mini game?

    How about a buffet with potatoe salad that has been left out in the sun for 3 days to washroom obstacle course.

    How about a "let's add resort fees everywhere" budget game.

    it is almost like cryptic has never been to a resort in its life.
    Should I start posting again after all this time?

    So you aren't a fan of the "get the attention of the bartender at the all inclusive bar" game? It is a metered game where you need to make a lot of gestures to get the attention of the bartender but can't overly do it where you just look like if you don't get that Long Island ice tea soon you will call in an air strike
    Should I start posting again after all this time?

    They added new stuff to the map. Run to one of the edges and take a look. :P

    But they haven't told us what it's for yet.

    The Risa resort isn't all inclusive. They make you grind favors for every single drink. :rolleyes:

    And their bazaars sell you cursed T-shirts that magically stop working when you go home. Gonna report them to the Ministry of Magic.

    That will accomplish nought. They tell you the T-shirts are cursed before selling them.
