There are two sides to your argument dude, if F2Pers don't feel they can get their effort's worth in zen they stop buying up Zen from the exchange, and the game dries up.
I don't thing the game is in any danger of drying up.

Looks like my Dilithium needs are taken care off by the last Zen sale. Excellent.
Maybe I should argue for a dilithium refinement cap increase, to reduce the Dilithium value even further. As long as Crptic doesn't add new sinks, I'd stand to benefit! Maybe at some point I can actually become a Dilithium Multi-Millionaire?
Not all, but a lot.
Some of us have plenty of things to spend dili on.
I have 8 characters that all in some way need reputation gear, thus a dili cost right there.
Normally I ignore most 'insults' directed at F2P people but in this case, I'll make an exception. I have dumped enough actual $ into this game over the last two years to pay for a more than a couple LTS. I just don't normally do it all at once. Normally it's $10 here, $20 there,... usually when i come up short unexpectedly for an upgrade or purchase I'm in the middle of. Ordinarily, I just grind for everything but c-store ships.
If dumping the equivalent of 3-4 LTS (at least) into the game over the course of the the last two years makes me a F2P freeloader, well then f*** you and the broken down garbage scow you flew in on,...
Just because F2P players don't sport some forum badge or advertise how much/often they spend if any, doe NOT make us freeloaders. We trade our Dilithium, EC, time for the Zen or gear we buy. Without us, those zen someone paid money for would still be sitting there with no need or impetus to buy more.
And remember, sometimes, people spend a lot more than you think. Just because they don't do it all at once and don't brag about it in public, doesn't mean it didn't happen.
If you're dumping money into this game then you are not "F2P" you are "P2W" in the context of the person I was responding to, as their context was people grinding out through content rather than paying money. Anyone paying money into the game by opening their wallet (either for Zen purchased, Gold status/LTS) is not "F2P" in this context.
This what I do not get, if dil sellers are so up in arms in the current state of the dilithium on the exchange, why is their so much of it for sale?
I mean some dil sellers are happy with the current rate to have over 40 million currently for sale.
Well, some people just don't care too much what it costs and, other's gather huge amounts of dilithium from having like 20-50 toons, that's a lot of dilithium.
Also, you have people who work the market, by buying/selling zen when they notice a trend, just like a stock market.
Buy low, sell high!
Potentially letting your digital money, work for you.
I myself do it but, when the market reaches past the 200 range, it starts to close in on the 50% cap region, which requires much more investing to really be worth the hassle.
Here we are hovering right around the 250 range, that is roughly at the 50% hard cap.
Meaning, it is roughly neither imo really all that beneficial for either group, to sell!
Unless you are moving huge #'s of either zen or, dilithium.

Actually the cap is 750. They changed it quite some time ago.
NERF CANNONS - THEY NEED A 50% NERF
CRUISERS NEED A 206% HULL BUFF
245 and climbing every time I've checked. Bundle after bundle of new T6 starships, store discount events and not a single dilithium-sink in sight for the foreseeable future.
Argh...If only I had not been so blind! There was a time when it was as low as 80 Dilithium per 1 Zen! *Howls in anguish*
If finish with Dil now buttons would not cost 18000 Dil but 1800 Dil instead and that in a crafting system one can actually put good use at level 20 things may be different.
Same counts for rarity upgrades, a Dil sink totally wasted after the decision to hand out salvage tech behind elite maps only a minority of the playerbase seems to enjoy.
Any new fleet holding will also be a fail because the majority I know will rather sit on their Dil than donating it to fleets where only very few Items worth getting are left.
Do anything to hurt current gear builds (which have cost hundreds of thousands of dil, or after DR even millions) too heavily or too fast and risk removing those few who care about STO from game.
At the current state I cant even say if its intentional for Cryptic not to put in potent Dil sinks in game, or if they just dont know how anymore.

Well, neither do I, it was just an argument.
Basically the Dil exchange shouldn't benefit the seller any more than the buyer.

I completely agree
