This should make you laugh... Or at least smile... or... Make you think that I am an idiot... Either is acceptable.
Wall-of-text, no TL;DR.
Let's set the basic parameters:
I got cheated out of more than half my dilithium in the Emblems->Dil conversion... That was the first time I've actually felt cheated by Cryptic... Not when they opened up for what was originally promised to be "exclusive" to Pre-order LTS'es... Not when the GalaxyX was added to the C-Store after being "exclusive" to the referral program... But the "loss" of 50% dil, because of a greedy, unrealistic choice by the then new EP.
After sticking with Cryptic for almost a full year without any new content, and hardly any fixes, I admit I felt like all the money I shoved into STO was put into a company that did not appreciate me as a customer.
Since then, I havn't felt tempted by anything in the C-Store. Especially not since I have yet to receive 4 months worth of stipends.
I admit, I had some C-Points left over from before F2P, that I spend on the Akira and Defiant upgrades, but apart from that... I havn't spend any kind of resources on anything C-Store related. I basically I promised myself not to.
Now anyone who has been reading my posts, knows that I am a... critic (?) of Cryptic's and PWE's methods, sticking around mainly for my fleet...
All that said (and to the point)... The pilot ships... They were tempting because they fit my gamestyle perfectly...
However, I was in conflict...
Basically, I did not feel tempted before, because none of the content was appealing, futher strengthened by the dil thing and the missing Stipends. But this was different, because the Ships match my build almost exactly, and they also suited my gamestyle.
So on one hand, I wanted the ship, and the remaining Stipends I've received more than covered the "expenses" for the ships, yet on the other hand there was the whole issues with the emotional involvement with my experiences.
So what do you do in such cases?
You flip a coin...
Theres a saying I read (On the internet):
Can't decide on something? Flip a coin, and while it's in the air, you know exactly what side you want it to land on.
Usually, most things said on the internet is BS... This one, I've learned, is true... It's the easiest decision making tool in the world, when you have two choices.
So I decided on Heads being the "Buy the ships" choice, and flipped the coin... And... Exactly as the saying, I realized that I wanted the coin to land in the manner that I could buy the ships.
It was kind of liberating... Knowing that I finally wanted something in the C-Store again, cause it meant that I finally could see some positives about the model Cryptic was going with.
Even pleasing in some strange manner.
I was excited and happy, just waiting for the coin to land, so that I could get to the C-Store.
And then the coin landed on tails...

To rob a line: [quote: Mariemaia Kushrenada] Forum Posting is much like an endless waltz. The three beats of war, peace and revolution continue on forever. However, opinions will change upon the reading of my post.[/quote]
Na... I am not easily tempted...
If the coin so chooses.
If it lands as a quarter, then no.
If it lands as a gold brick, then maybe.
...it landed as a quarter.
But I gave them a chance...
Edit: I just bought my son the KDF 3-Pack - he loves those ridge-heads - and that was my money. Maybe I am just crazy.
Is that you?
(I'm saving my money for those cool T8 Master of the Universe Ships!)
But, what's a quarter?
I got the reference.
... it took a few seconds to realize that the coin flipping was 50-50 . Which made me think that from your POV Anazonda , you were still way-waaaayyy too generous with Cryptic ...
(I think this meme applies here.)
For me, best of three is standard for coin flips. As you said, you know what you want it to land on once the coin is in the air. This allows the universe to change its mind (the universe is very fickle), or double down.
Did anyone not?
Support 90 degree arc limitation on BFaW! Save our ships from looking like flying disco balls of dumb!
Around these parts, one can never tell - some folks wouldn't notice the most obvious dent - even if there were two - and they were right there in their face.
It's funny thinking about it, if one does for a moment though...

I didn't.

Thanks!
But cannons ships are underpowered by a large margin nowadays. That's the first issue I have. In fact, while I made 3/5 characters to play with cannons ship, none of them use them anymore. Beams are that OP.
Also, I don't want to support the kind of powercreep and cash grab cryptic is doing, especially since DR. Re-releasing t5 as t6 comes to mind. Cheaply done and just to make money.
And finally, perhaps the most important part, PESTF is dead, pugs are even worse than they used to be (thanks to new failure conditions), and I don't play much STF since DR because of that (mostly). Which mean I will not use those ships a lot. Wasted money comes to mind.
I so wish the dil market was like it used to be (150 and less), I would have "bought" them, if you catch my meaning
Wow... way too subtle for me.
Although for me, I very much doubt that will change no matter what Cryptic does.
I am however content on earning Dilithium and converting that into Zen, for what ever I want/need in the game.
Just picked up the Eclipse, and might get the T6 Galaxy too! Not sure yet.
My issue is deciding whether to get the Engineering vs the Tactical version. I like the look of the Engineering versions more (well, the Fed anyway), but I really need the Boff seating of the Tac version,...
Decisions, decisions,...
I got time though. I don't need to decide right this minute. Unlike some, I have some measure of self control and I can wait for the right time, when I have the right amount of Zen available.

If you have Reciprocity or All Hands on Deck you don't need many tactical skills, I'd go for the engineering one. Especially if you intend on doing PvP. The science one is pretty and will do well for plasma doping.
I don't PvP, ever and I don't have either of those other things,.. that I am aware of. I assume if I had them, I would know what they were and how to use them.
I just want the Tactical seating on the Engineering ship,... is that too much to ask? LOL.

I got the reference too. I get all references. Why? Because I'm BATMAN!
Oh rly?
Hah!
