    Have the same problem. And it's not related to looking at boff skills, because i usually don't find out until i'm on the ground, and haven't looked at skill before beaming down. When i do check before beaming down, they stay what they're supposed to be. It may be coincidence, but i find it mostly occurs after a shard maintenance. So now i just check standard after each maintenance what my boff skills are doing. Maybe somehow the reset is connected to maintenance? Anyone else noticed the same thing?

    I was able to get the attention of someone in QA last week. So we finally have some movement on this. In this week's patch notes:
    Known Issues:

    Bridge Officer ground powers reset after viewing the status window of a Bridge Officer.

    How long it'll take to actually resolve is anyone's guess. Also, this would fix the trigger I can reproduce, but it doesn't rule out there being other triggers.

    Thanks for the patience everyone. I've got a fix for this issue coming down the pipes, and it definitely solves the 100% repro case in this thread. No ETA on when it'll go live since it's in QA land now, but it should be soon™.​​

    I don't like that ™ on the 'soon', but I'm relieved that a fix has been made. Hehe, I was just about to post another complaint about my boffs resetting again today. Guess I'll bear with it until "soon™" arrives lol.

    Yeah I like to put a little disclaimer on these things because it's out of my hands at this point - QA might dig something up and it comes back to me and I find it'll take a three more days of work, or we decide we don't want to take anything that is not 100% safe in the next build because of X reasons, etc. So while I'm hoping it gets out as soon as next patch, there are 101 reasons why it might not and I'm in no position to make promises ;)​​
    Today is a good day to fix bugs.

    Fix was in today's patch, it appears to be working. Changed around a few skills, switched maps, logged out, still there.

    Nope, not working. My engineer/command boff just reset out of nowhere and I didn't even do anything. Didn't open his skills page, or change zone. Just opened the stations tab and bam, all his skills were reset.

    What location were you in, and what was the last thing you remember doing before that? The fix for the trigger I reported does indeed seem to work, but like I said previously, there could be more causes.​​

    Been hangin around at ESD for a couple hours, opened up the stations tab to check my candidate roster and found that particular boff's skills had reset. Could be cuz he's a command hybrid.

    No, not fixed, as I am continuing (as in before and after patch-in-question) to have problems specifically with BOff ground abilities on away teams. The skill page for each BOff describes the set powers as being "default", yet there is nothing stopping the game from arbitrarily setting the abilities to whatever it feels like. They're not even the original abilities the BOffs had when commissioned (I have never received any BOff with Draw Fire I, Draw Fire II, and Draw Fire III active in 3 slots simultaneously, so there's how I know they are not the original abilities).

    There seems to be no common thread to it as:
    I can specifically avoid looking at the BOffs skill windows or stations window then find out BOffs I knew were already set up are FUBAR when I see the beam-down line-up window...
    I can set-up or confirm the BOffs' abilities, then zone and find them all mixed up again, whether they're back to what they were before or something completely different.
    I can be zoning, starting a missions, fine-tuning my character, doesn't matter.
    It can be just one BOff or it can be all of them.
    It can be just one ability on a BOff or it can be all of them.

    The game just likes to TRIBBLE with them with no rhyme or reason to it.

    The simplest fix I could see is to actually have the BOff skills windows be where the default abilities are assigned, regardless of BOff original abilities (i.e. HAVE THE GAME WORK PROPERLY).

    Very grateful this was finally nailed down and fixed. So far I haven't had any issues with boff skills resetting on any of my 15 characters.

    "Default" is a poor word choice on that screen. The skills page really should be named "Active" for ground skills. The "reset to default" is roughly alphabetical to what skills are available.

    My experience in hunting the previous trigger indicated something does a corrupt write of skills to server/memory (in that case, the status page for a boff), causing the game to get confused and reset them when it next needs to write or read them. There is a subtle difference though, in that it can still display the pre-corrupt skill selection for a while, so it's not immediately apparent what did the corruption.
    The game just likes to TRIBBLE with them with no rhyme or reason to it.

    These are not that easy to hunt down. The last one was a pain. I haven't been able to trigger it again yet after the fix, but I'm going to keep trying.​​

    So far none of my Boffs reset after the patch.

    I have the preferred abilities chosen and set on their skill page, not just on the stations page where you choose who is your away team. Maybe that makes the difference?​​

    My bajoran Eng/Command boff just reset again. The rest are fine. Just seems to be my command hybrid that keeps getting messed up now. Happened at random. Came back from doing ISA, checked my traits, hit the stations window and found him reset.

    Hrm. I haven't been able to get my Eng/Command boff to pop during my messing-around sessions, so we may have to go deeper. Can you tell me:
    1. Fed or Romulan?
    2. What away team slot is this boff in? (unlikely to be slot-specific, but who knows at this point)

    4. Pain in the behind request: can you list what skills you've trained him in? (exploring if there's a specific skill/skill combos that might be corrupting)

    Also, can you check before and after your next space queue to see if that does it?

    1. Fed toon, female trill (not joined) if we want to be specific. (Jenora Kell@Sovereign)
    2. Bottom left away team slot.
    3. He's only eng/command.
    4. Skills:

    Slot 1: Quick Fix 1 (only has this one eng ability in tier 1 and has Overwhelm Shields 1 and Take Cover 1 learned.)
    Slot 2: Weapons Malfunction 2 (Also learned Reroute power to shields 1 and Strategic Analysis 1.)
    Slot 3: Overwhelm Shields 3 (Also learned Turret Fabrication 2, Weapons Malfunction 3 and Return Fire 1.)
    Slot 4: Turret Fabrication 3 (Also learned Quantum Mortar Fab. 3, Sanctuary 2 and Return Fire 3.)

    5. Equipment: Full Adapted MACO set, 2 slots of large hypos, a frequency remodulator and epic Tribble (riv)
    6. No boff skills on my tray.


    Oddly enough, my sci/intel boff in the bottom right slot used to get reset frequently but has remained perfectly stable since the patch.

    Ok, so as of the last patch, this bug has returned. >_> My sci's boffs keep resetting at random.

    I noticed recently, on a few different characters, that after claiming a ship from the c-store (not ship requisitions) I would have 1 or 2 skills reset on a single boff in my away team. I think changing my active ship at a ship selector seems to do it also, and possibly when discharging a starship. It seems to happen to only 1 boff at a time.

    Not a big deal, but worth looking into. Aside from that my boff's skills seem to stay set.

    That's probably what did it. I was filling up my ship slots in prep for the admiralty system and editing ships at the ship tailor when I noticed their skills had reset.
