Fleet Experimental Sci Vessel Torp Build

Hey everyone. I wanted to throw this build up for folks to check out and also offer up any improvements or changes I, or anyone who wants to try the build, could make to this build.

I tried this build on the standard tier 6 ESV and was actually pretty impressed with its survive-ability and its damage potential. This build does have a lack of resists which I sacrificed to get to 17% crit and 100% severity. Still, it has handled well and it feels that it survives better than the similar build on my Tac Vesta or Pathfinder.

As is, I have parsed anywhere from 12K to 21K in ISA, depending on the group of course. Besides the obvious upgrades to the weapons themselves, I am looking for suggestions to improve the build. Thanks in advance!

I am not an expert, but we have similar builds (I am on the Pathfinder). Here is mine:

    A few thoughts:
    • I see you are going with bonuses for Photon Torpedoes, however you only have 2 of them. Maybe it's better to get +Torp fleet consoles rather than use the Counter Command and Proton Particle consoles?
    • I'd add another fleet Particle Generator console there (since you seem to be going for a Particle Generator build). 350-370 seems to be the sweetspot (gives enough crits and damage while leaving you some room for additional consoles).
    • If you can afford it, get the Kemocite-Laced Weaponry skill. I'd move TT1 to replace your beam overload and on its old slot, I'll use either a copy of TT or Kemocite-Laced Weaponry.
    • If you have the Phantom, try to get Reciprocity. Reciprocity + AHOD will allow you to survive with just 1 copy of GW. You can replace GW1 with the new Destabilizing Resonance Beam. It deals considerable damage and with AHOD + Reciprocity, the long cooldown is manageable. An alternative is TBR with Graga Mal. He may be expensive, but TBRs do deal a considerable amount of damage when used right. If you go that route, I'd replace the BO Doff with him.
    • I'd replace EPtS with EPtA (gives boost to Particle Generators and Grav Gens too).
    • I'd replace HE2 with Science Team 2. On the old Science Team 1, I'd add Polarize Hull (adds DR while allowing you to escape hold effects).

The BO penetration is nice, but personally, I do not want to waste a BOff ability for something that is reliant on RNG to succeed. Besudesm I would think you are running high Aux and Shields so your Weapon Power might not be that high. BO may not be contributing that well to your damage.

I am not an expert though so take my suggestions with a grain of salt. These are just things that worked for me. I hope others will chime in so we can both learn a bit more. :)

You make some good points man thanks for all the info. The CC tab console I guess was a hold over from when I was trying to do a radiation build. From my parses, most of my damage goes in this order:

1 And 2. Grav rift (from grav photon spread)/particle torp burn
    3. Grav wells
    4. Destabilizing resonance beam
    5. Assorted torp damage.

For some reason I never have used TBR much, even though I have the pull doff. I do have access to everything else you have suggested. Will definitely give these suggestions a try.

With your high Aux do you think you can survive with one HE? You have three heals.
With your photon bonus you could run the Enhanced Bio-Molecular Torpedo (EBM) (if you have it) fore and move the Neutronic aft (You do not have any flow caps to buff the torpedo). Or replace the current aft photon with the EBM.

I'm assuming the aft beam is for subsystem targeting. If you did not have the 360 it could allow you to rely less on shield and aux batteries, and run two copies of TT.

I'd consider filling your sci console slots with part gen consoles if you have them, as that is what your build looks like it is based on. I'd add a Polarize Hull 1, and a second Inhibiting SD Power, if not TBR then Sensor Scramble, as Graga Mal was 80 million ec a few days ago. Something with a short cool down that can be used with your Alpha strike. Players: If you do use TBR without Mal be prepared to draw the irate of teammates if you push ships out of firing arcs, AOE powers, or range. Use responsibly please.

If you do fill your sci console with sci console you could remove the Tachy and Romulan consoles and move set bonus console up to engineering. If squishy-ness is an issue, you can pick up fleet neutronium +turn consoles. Or conversely you could get RCS +resist consoles. Try putting one in an engie console slot. Think about the universals you have and if they really are helping your build. Some of my builds have universals in tactical slots.

If power is a concern for your ship you can run a copy of Energy siphon or use the MACO shield. That could mean replacing your Deflector with the AMACO variant to keep the bonus.

Well I have been running the Enhanced Bio Photon on the back, which is in that build I posted. I actually just re-ran Blood of the Ancients and got the Resonant Transphasic and put it on the rear slot. I also removed the CC tac console and replaced it with another +torp locator. also dropped the Zero-Point module for another embassy partgen console and upgraded my field exciter to XIV, which put me at 301 PartG. Also am running the Subspace Vortex III in place of GW I.

Ran a CE Adv and even though I died twice, parsed 19K with bad lag. I think with a clean run with minimal lag I could really push this now.

I might could survive with one HE, but with this heal setup as is unless I just don't pay attention or get stupid, like I did in the CE run, I am for the most part indestructible. I will mess with it though ans see what happens. Thanks for the advice and I will update once I get a few runs in with the changes.

I thought I saw a regular bio-molec torpedo instead of the Enhanced, sorry about that. Continue to tweak it to see what fits best for you.

I'm actually tinkering around with the Radiant Transphasic Torpedo myself. The HY version is nice.

I have not tried in in HY yet. I will say that based on the parses I have done it seems that the proc is happening more than 33% of the time, at least in a TS II or III. I think I might need to drop the Tackyo console for a resist rcs engie console. I definitely am a little squishy without the resist, but that drops my crit severity below 100%. Just I will need to test with both and see.
