The syndicate officer spawns targetable by mobs as soon as the 3rd region becomes available. This frequently renders the queue nearly impossible to complete as he will have zero health most of the time before you arrive, at which point triggering him (occasionally even if you manage to tag him with a nanite cloud to get him above 0 health) registers him as dead immediately failing the queue. This occurs even on advanced difficulty, where he is supposedly an optional.
Secondly, the elite level of this queue pays out advanced-level craylon boxes, with the tooltip reading plekton.
1. U need to kill Heralds around him.
2. Heal him (sci\med or eng\medgen).
3. Save him (press F) and guard him all way + heal him.
P\S. Bug:
Elite difficulty of this queue gives Advanced reward (720 dil + adv r&d box)
Ao you have to hope for someone with good healing skills or an engineer who can plant a med. Generator near the Orion guy?
Don't think its supposed to be so pug- unfriendly.
And i also think that its a bit too much to deactivate the iconian devices simultaniously esp. for pugs.
Team chat isn't that common in STO and if you have to try 3-5 or ore times each level its getting annoying. Thats the point where i'd switch to bug hunt to get my marks and , looking at the queues, i am by far not the only one
And pugging should stil be possible if STO doesn't want to become a Elite-fleet only game

1) done
2) done
3) if his health hit zero at any point, even before saved, which happens often on elite, he will fail you on activation, even if you've since-restored him. once his health hits zero, you fail on triggering, regardless of if you heal him back or not. this has happened 3 for 3 fails of elite.

Of course "if his health hit zero at any point, even before saved" he will die. Heralds want to kill him, and u need to save him...
Or u want that Cryptic make him immortal?
No, but he becomes targetable the instant the devices on the prior area get triggered. that gives him, even at the fastest motion accel/frostboot/psiaura race to the area he's in, about 10s average of being alone as the only eligible target to a large herald group. He gets /shredded/ before you have a chance to even get there. Your success or fail of the objective relies solely on luck over whether or not the big herald clears the corner into line of sight or not. Not team skill.
Delay his spawn-in until players have actually arrived in the area and it his survival becomes a skill issue, not a luck issue.
its like the optionals in anra relying on RNG spawns. It turns a skill-based queue into a RNG roll. Nobody wants that.
Heralds cant kill him before someone "press F"... There is no RNG. Clear place, HEAL him, save him...
Come on, all mission are easy and Herald boss is a joke. Only Orion pirate makes this "stf" Elite
Are you not reading what I'm saying? In the 3 fails i've had running elite, he had been healed BEFORE being triggered. The heralds bottomed his health before we got there, bar was empty. ran up, popped nanite cloud, and his bar filled a bit. Triggered, with health, and his objective failed instantly. Which I should add, is another bug.
Advanced lists the orion as optional on advanced. however triggering him sets the objective as mandatory.
