As an Accolade hunter, I saved the old GODSE mission to share among my fellow hunters. At the loading of season 10, this mission changed to Defend the Beta Quadrant. Here's the kicker: none of the new DSE or RA missions advance the ticker for this mission. If this mission is truly dead now, can we get an official systematic drop from on high? I won't be able to bring myself to just drop the mission if there is any chance someone may be able to use it in the future. Thanks!
What I want to know is how the hell to fulfill the mission. Borg Alerts in Beta Quadrant don't count towards it. I just did em. Still 0/3. So since there is no Gamma Orionis to do the friggin mission in, and Borg Alerts don't count, how the hell are we to progress the mission. \o/
My main toon (from beta) has most accolades completed and I made sure to finish up the last few Borg Red Alerts in sector space because I KNEW this wasn't gonna work. I am glad I had the foresight (and sad that I had to have that foresight) to make sure that was all wrapped up on my original toon before the sector space revamp. I really hate that every single time the devs touch anything in this game, it goes completely haywire and nothing works right and only about 75-80% of the breaks get repaired, this is why we lifetime guys keep hoping a day will come when someone up in northern CA will say "let's do what Apple is doing with iOS 9. Instead of coming up with anymore features, let's optimize what we have.
Look, we know the business model says that in order to generate revenue, you must keep putting new stuff into the game...but sometimes you have to stop and listen to the community. I am telling you, you guys would see a lot of players return and an uptick in profits if you guys would take this bug fixing stuff seriously. I mean REALLY seriously, like if you need to bring the servers down for 5 or 6 or even 24 hours, as long as you explained it to the community, that you guys had been working on a complete overhaul, eliminating old lines of code, going thru and hunting down all 3+ million bug reports, I mean really put in the effort and love, I promise you would see a turn around in activity and spending. People invest when they're happy and confident. And that's what our community is lacking, they aren't happy because the amount of bugs makes the game really difficult to play, even the most casual of missions, when you come on to unwind and things aren't working, that adds stress, and the casual players come on to have fun, not deal with things that make them stress out even more because they can't finish this mission or they can't get this part of their costume or every stupid little thing else...you guys have to understand that sure, those bug reports pile up on you guys but they pile up on us as well...and that's what makes the community so toxic and what drives the players off and keeps them out.
STO is never gonna go main stream. I wish it would, that would be amazing...but it's Star Trek, it's the classic stereotype of geek...but I promise (and I never use that P word) that if you guys took 6 months or a year of just fixing the code and bring that player confidence and happiness back, I promise you would see a completely different community AND one that would be more willing to say "ya know, I'm just a casual player but this game is so flawless that I know it's gonna be around for a while, and I really want that ship, and it's only $30 so why not?" As opposed to the other, which are disgruntled players, who see all these bugs and flaws and think "ya this game is DOOM! That $30 would better spent on this other game I play, I mean, I just hopped on to mine dilithium but I can't even beam off ESD because of this bug, or I can't play the Dili mini game because of the server latency bugs, or I can't run any STF's because there is no prerequisite system in place for the STF's so anyone can, and do, queue up for advanced and/or elite STF's which cause us to fail them every single time and we're not sure if these are trolls doing this on purpose or they're so frustrated they just don't care, or they are hoping to get teamed with 4 other stronger players so that team will carry them.." I mean I hate to say this but STF's have turned into a problem very similar to the PvP problem in game. So here we have players who are just so disheartened by the state of the game that there's just no way they'll spend any money and we'll just continue sliding down to STO's untimely dimise.

My Counter will not advance for defeating Borg Contacts in "Defending the Beta Quadrant" Mission.
I have defeated the required number of Borg Enemy Signal Contacts (3) to complete this mission. However, none of them are registering in mission counter.
I filed a ticket and followed a troubleshooting process outlined in the GM as follows:
" Please try to "Force verify" the client files by following the short guide I've outlined below:
1. Shutdown your PC and wait for a few minutes before restarting it
2. Shutdown all non-essential (including browsers, downloaders, instant messengers, gaming related software) applications running on your PC
3. Launch the game via Arc
4. Click the "Options" link located at the upper-right corner of the launcher
5. Check the option "Force verify"
6. Click the "Save" button
At this point, the launcher will manually check each file against the server, and if it finds any discrepancy, it will download the correct file. After this process is completed, please login to the game and test if it is working as intended now. "
It did not resolve the issue. I also filed a bug report per GM instructions. Since that time I have even done a clean install of the game as I did a complete restore on my computer. Still cannot advance the counter for this mission.
Comments
i have the same problem, the counter is stuck at 1/3 and none of the missions advances it.
If you still cannot advance the counter, please provide your character's name@handle.

The type of rant I'd love to make, but I can't.
