Pvp is indeed dead. Bo3, the new trait, and guess what I've been on tribble and the new rep 3-set has a power that overcharged the rep antiproton dhc/beam array. I've done 60k+ crits withit... Lmao

I'm sure it took gdf, fomm, sensor scan, zero def, practically kissing target or whatever but still those are insane numbers to pull. No one has a reason to believe those numbers but deep down we all know if he's not doing them, someone else is.
Those numbers are not even that high, people were touching 200k way before DR.
With HY 200-300k is now super easy and over half a million is achievable.
That said, those are all 1 shot kills anyway and STO PvP is unrecoverably dead even without monthly coat of power creep.
oh ya, thats probably enough to guess their entire station setup, i was going to do that

I equipped a ship with all the rep gear and went in to the new PvE. It was basically pressing space bar and boom went everything.
Double tap? Psh... with that trait, I think I could pull off a quad tap.
2 copies of BO... activate one, don't fire it... wait for 2nd BO timer to nearly refresh... fire first BO, get second one from trait during lock-out period... fire 2nd boff BO when lockout clears, get 4th total from trait right afterward.

It's not quad tapping if you have to wait aaaaaaages for the skills to get ready...

New trait has a 30s cooldown - so I don't think that would work, you're still capped at BO3/2+1 from trait, then a second BO2/3 after the normal lockout.
Anyway; the new trait is only 1 x BO1 every 30s, is it really that big a deal? Or am I just hopelessly naive?

The old double tap was essentially every 30s at absolute minimum. (Queue up BO3, wait 15s, queue up BO2, fire - queue up BO3, wait for BO2 to cooldown) And to use it, most used it as an alpha strike from cloak, which means waiting a couple of minutes between attacks. Makes the 30s more or less irrelevant.
Not to mention present conditions where people can build specifically around CritD to ensure BO hits for the largest possible amount, since it always crits. The old doubletap had some randomness involved, and was affected by weapons power drain - but this one will be consistent, without needing weapons energy boosts.
The only thing I can see stopping return of doubletap will be if the trait is affected by the 5-sec BO cooldown as well.

That's what I was looking at - the trait can only kick in once every 30s, so while it permits a double-tap, the quad-tap being discussed earlier is impossible.
Equally, back in the day the excitement of double-taps came from multiple BO3s - this is "only" a BO1. Or is an extra ensign power now that big a deal?
Son are you hi do you know anything about tanking?? Well, I wouldn't put it as harshly as that. However, my Recluse build has always been able to tank the best of them.

It is when you've got that free BO 1 coming in with an extra 35% Shield Penetration (Energy Weapons DOff) at a 100% CrtH.

Not tested but it does not look impossible. You use the set beam that always x2 Beam Overloads per shot, use the Over mod with the new method. Thats 4 beam overloads.

It is a shame they don't care about balance, I loved the old 3 hours of play with tsi, tiresome but was fun and down to skill.
Yup. It's moved to the forums though, and we shoot lines of text and quotes instead of phazors.
