Mines explode on launch

I've seen this on two ships that I've noticed so far.
The first was the Kobali ship then last night on the Breen Chel Grett.
The mines launch and instantly explode. No damage to my ships but a waste of a weapon.
Has anyone else seen this?

    i have same problem too, mines do launch but that explosion every time is a bit irritating
