Can't get Lieutenant Commander ranked ships (KDF).

Hi,
Decided to start a new KDF today, but hit a little snag: hit level ten and couldn't claim a Lt. Cmdr. ship. I know that you're not supposed to get the requisition until Test of Mettle, but because of the extra XP, I'm levelling up quicker than this allows (and you can't skip missions at this point).

I'm trying to claim the free ship that you're supposed to get every ten levels, not an item of any sort. Because of the way the new KDF arc was structured, you get the requisition during a mission, but they didn't allow for the double XP and so I've hit level ten while still several missions short of ToM and unlike the Fed/Romulan side, the free ship isn't an automatic unlock at this stage (dunno why).

I just checked and I had the Qaw'Dun available, but it's an oversight that might hinder new KDFs, so it's worth bringing to Cryptic's attention.

Yeah, it's this one. But you can't skip to it and you can't get the ship any other way, so you're basically stuck trying to level up with an underpowered ship. Not an amenable situation for new players, I don't think.
KDF: 2 tacs, 2 engs, 3 scis
KDF Roms: 3 tacs, 1 eng, 1 scis
FED: 2 tacs, 1 eng, 2 scis
TOS: 1 tac
all on T5 rep (up to temporal)
all have mastered Intel tree (and some more specs Points)
highest DPS: 60.982
The worst on is for romulans.
Last Time we had a 2X XP Event I ran al the Way to Level 25 in a T'Liss, because I was stuck in the initial Story Arc before you Pick a Faction.. Talk about a grind....
Anyway.
That must've hurt. The T'Liss is not a ship I'd want to run Lt. Cmdr. or higher missions in. :eek:
Which means you know it's not a bug and thus the thread should be closed, right? :rolleyes:
And if you're honestly having problems doing some missions at that stage of the game with the previous ship, you've got some pretty big problems...

What we are trying to say is.... If cryptic replies to this Thread, you are gonna get a "Working as Intended" Response... Since it is working as intended.
I wasn't intending to come across as insulting to people who are just trying to help.
Yeah, it's working as intended, but it's hurting people. I know it's not terribly difficult to slog through another ten levels with the same ship (especially if it's geared correctly), but I am concerned for new players, and those who don't have access to EC or other resources to build a ship.
And that's a perfectly reasonable complaint and a thread bringing that to Cryptic's attention would be awesome (it's been done, but a reminder couldn't hurt). It's just that it's not a bug. At some point, this thread will end up being closed for not being a bug...and...that reminder might be missed.

actually, you can always skip some missions, do test of mettle and then do the missions you skipped afterwards.

Like I said, that wasn't possible. You can't skip until a certain point in the arc (Manhunt, I think), and by then you're already halfway through Lt. Cmdr. :eek:
Same thing happened at Commander rank, too, but it unlocked at 21 instead, so less of a crisis.
