"Additionally, they continually reduce their recharge rates the more they are fired"
so in other words, these weapons are absolutely, positively, the last word when it comes to DPS. blatantly introducing a new weapon sub type that's utterly better then everything before it, instead of a weapon type thats just different and at about the same level. i guess games will just have to fail before companies learn how self destructive these types of practices are. when there is this much emphasis on the short term new op shiny waving, and absolutely none on the long term health effect of the game as a whole, its got to be because they know they have no future.
Is it just me or are they actually embracing the 'fawboat mashing spacebar' philosophy with this rep?
Rep passives healing you as you deal damage, dealing some more of that damage as AoE.
Rep passive and shields cleansing you of debuffs.
Engine granting additional damage on full throttle.
Sounds like we're supposed to fly around in big circles spammming FAW while any damage we are dealt is mitigated and any debuffs we may face are automatically cleansed.
I now understand Virusdancer's first (now removed) post in this thread. There's really not much positive to say... except the picture being clickable to see a hi-res version (thanks Trendy). But that leads to another downside: the armor really doesn't fit well in trek (reminds me of club wear).
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.
Can we just send these 'armor' sets back to art work? How the hell did these even get approved for publishing? I know with this formula we have to have some special snowflake armor / gear set with every new Rep, but this is getting ridiculous. How does this in anyway shape or form resemble anything Star Trek?

As well there are so many portions of this game that have been left so far behind its not like they don't have areas to improve on. I love star trek but at this point I think its the only true thing with this mmorpg is a brand name that is keeping it together with duct tape and chewed up bubble gum. The chicken wire will be installed next tuesday.
I do agree though the fun aspect of gaming seemed to dwindle over time as corporations began to take over the industry and assert more control over it. Is why games long ago were so good when looked at the fun aspect of it. Now its just do the gear grind dance till you get sick of it.
i wish there were more short stories obtained by reaching each tier, like in new romulus rep which eventually led into sphere of influence, or in dyson rep which ended up with giving us an unique boff.
it sounds like it'll be another reputation without any actual storyline importance, like counter command or delta reputations were.
while i don't think a renegade iconian boff would ever happen, something leading into one of the events would be cool.
So far the Iconians don't have a personality .
.... we'll just continue to confuse power with personality ...
Lot of stuff going on in there. Passive heals. Removing debuffs. Boosting damage/crit. Radiation damage that also strips buffs.
Oh well, I'm not into getting all of the latest Rep gear. Why start now? It's the Traits that I'm usually most interested in... they don't take my dilithium.

Looks nice, but won't be using it. We are level cap 60 now. When are rewards going to reflect our level cap and not be 10 levels short for the crafting dilithium sink? It's going to have to serve bacon and wash the windows before I invest in upgrading more rep gear to Mk XIV.
Yeah sounds like bops are gonna be further behind in this dps race as well as any science setups of any faction lol. I was almost getting back into this with the delta recruit thing but I guess I better go back to my little hole and wait for what season 11 or whatever comes out next see if it gets any better.
Edit: As far as DPS racing its what makes reps and lockboxes sell I get that but it is rather frustrating when certain parts of the game like raiders and science are left in the background to collect dust which this is happening in season 10 based on this information. They could have atleast thrown in some warp cores that perform performance for the science ships and cloak ambush duration to match that of reman infiltrators lol. Just my suggestion but like taco said that one time by time you get to talking about a suggestion its already too late lol.
Lets name the ways they screwed over science over and over:
1) No warp cores that boosts science skills.
2) Fleet elite deflectors that do nothing to boost science skills compared to other alternatives (they are more DPS and tank boosting than science). The 10% cd reduction is junk now a days with AHOD available.
3) No reputation that boosts science (none, they are all the same DPS/Heals/Resistance junk). The only sets that kind of boost science are the Breen (+35 flow caps set bonus and energy siphon) and Jem'Hardar (Great flow caps boost on the deflector and boost to polaron weapons) plus great sensors boost.
4) No reputation traits or spec trees for science outside of healing.
5) They release science ships few and far between and when they do, there is a 50% chance they'll TRIBBLE up and make something no one wants to use like the Dyson ships. (I also don't see many Scryers or Dauntless flying around)
Can we get something for science next? I understand it's the least played role, but after this ridiculous DPS+Heals for all rep and weapons, you might as well do something for science next time, as I doubt people will want to part ways with these ridiculous weapons you've designed.
Iconian Resistance Resilient Shield Arrays offer a high shield capacity coupled with the ability to reduce and absorb incoming energy damage. These shields continually run an internal sensor sweep, periodically removing debuffs.
Yeah, somebody's going to have to explain that one in more detail.
Does it remove all debuffs? One at a time? Are certain kinds of effects/debuffs immune to the sensor sweep? How often is periodically? Is it a percentage chance to activate, or does it automatically succeed?
I wouldn't care if it was a chance to remove some debuffs over time.
But if it's too powerful, then there's a lot less reason to have BOFFs trained in skills that remove debuffs.

Receive a portion of your outgoing damage as hull healing to you.
Please be careful balancing this...
Thank you for making Quantums a rep weapon option again. Now release a T6 KDF carrier w/ bop pets so I can do my torp boat setup again. ~.~
Umm...they've been a option since the Delta rep...Neutronic is Quantum based and then there is the more generic Quantum torps.
Back on topic...really disappointed...I swear Cryptic...it's like you're making some good strides then you go and do something stupid, like you have to, and release this grossly overpowered sounding set...and you keep TRIBBLE Science over again and again and again...
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power

I support this. I wouldn't mind the devs taking some time and retrofitting TF Omega, Nukara, Counter-Command, and Delta Reps with story stuff either. (TF Omega would be a great place to untangle the mess that the Borg STF storyline has become).
Nukara really does need some kind of storyline (and maybe a few story-episodes to go with it) because there's precious little of it at the moment.
Counter Command and Delta Reps...I'll admit to just being greedy there. The Delta Rep is pretty obviously tied to the Delta Rising story arc and Counter-Command is basically the military response to the events of "Surface Tension."
Is it just me or are they actually embracing the 'fawboat mashing spacebar' philosophy with this rep?

Well, Pilot as a Primary and the coming Pilot boats...
I want three things with this set: a running animation for this armor that gives us roller blades, a throwable laser discus, and the Iconians' grand scheme to be them challenging the Milky Way to a winner-take-all roller derby tournament.
Lets name the ways they screwed over science over and over:
1) No warp cores that boosts science skills.

The worst part is that it does little good to put a science toon into a non-science ship because you are missing the most crucial skills to the dps theme park ride - APA and GDF. You can, however, put a tactical toon into a science ship and mop the floor with the enemy. PartGen proc'd torpedoes trump our best skills already and you can do that on any ship with any captain.

kinda have to burst you bubble here cause the Solonae set is very sciency and is my primary set used on my Wells it is free to grab as it is an episode reward the R&D system has a great trait for part gens science users like myself lets see what else... ah yes the Gravametric Photon Torpedo a sci captains best friend the romulan rep T5 ability boosts ALL sci skills by 100 when you activate it. I could go on but it would be longer than I want to explain scis are not as toothles as you think remember that the next time a sci ship makes an entire fleet melt before you.
I mean I might grab the armor because it looks ridiculous, but other than that this is just goofy. A bunch of AP-based gear that buffs your damage while shooting, a team damage buff (so best when all 5 are running this set), a ResAll Resilient shield that clears debuffs, deflector and engines that provide damage resistance, a drive core that boosts healing, and traits that give you heals for shooting and temporary immunity when shot at.
I'm sorry.. but.. reading all that.. just leaves me disappointed.. and a bit disheartened...
...(As a side note, I'm disappointed we still haven't gotten a single reputation healing kit module for Science Captains yet - that's a core feature of ground combat for them.)
Eng captains seem a bit in the same boat...their rep module is a side-grade to medical generator (unless we see in another blog that it also has the HoT effect) while tacs get more straigt-up damage and scis get damage with a debuff

While they dump shinys on us by the bucket .
... oh well, at least the Iconians are still not invading ... , but possible TRON villains might be ...
You don't like Tron?
So they'll be able to do ISA even faster ?
... well I'm all aquiver ...
This is not TRON this is Star Trek. And that armor design had absolutely nothing to do whit Star Trek.
Whats next Fighting mobs with laser shows and disco balls:eek::eek::
