There's just no pleasing people, especially nerds

Game reset: the rage is great
Game reset turns out to be an april fool's: the rage is great
Iconic ships have 3 tac consoles; the rage is great
There's fleet ships, but they wont have the traits: the rage is great
the costs of a fleet ship with all modules is the same as the cost of the t6 variant of it, plus 1 module for the Fleet version; the rage is great
developers ask us questions: the rage is great
Developers apologise: the rage is great
New sector maps: the rage is great

Star Trek returns to tv in the 80s: the rage is great
Star Trek returns to the screens: the rage is great

    seriously...

look at it this way. They cared enough to prank us. They cared enough to update the most famous ships to T6, as requested. They cared enough to introduce fleet tier 6... they cared enough to respond to our questions and ask us where the game should go...

take basic economics folks, this game isn't running on charity.

Lost any respect for you with the "nerd" line.

Well, I for my part have no issues paying to upgrade my ships and do my part to keep the game running.

T6 versions of iconic ships with decent boff layout. Great ! However, when I logged in and all my boffs were gone my mood changed a bit. So, instead of directly buying the new ships, I started an episode. Some ground combat, then beaming up and red alert. Once again boffs gone.

Yes, my rage is great. This bloody bug was one of the reasons I took a break from the game over a year ago. And those df's can't ***** fix it in all this time ?

I proudly wear the nerd badge, but as soon as you see me raging about something related to STO, that's the signal it's time for me to shut down the game, uninstall it and move on. People take this game (and themselves) way too seriously.

Well put. I have no issues with dissenting opinions, but the way some of these folks carry on
    is astounding.

I suppose if thay are all between the ages of (9) and (12), it would explain things. They get
so hysterical and insulting, I can only hope the above is the case. Adults ought not carry on
    so.

Sorry to be so blunt. Everyone here should be enjoying a game. If not, then for your
    own sake, move on.

    BCW. :)

You mean that Cryptic is a company? You know, an economic entity created for making profit? Gee thanks man! I thought this was all a big charity for us five or six Star Trek fans!

*the biggest eye roll you could possibly imagine*

Word of caution. I have been told that nothing Star Trek related is made well if made at all because there are not enough fans to pay for anything. . .
The persons saying this to me were serious. . .

Nor should they be. Their ships would look weird.

I went into the new film with an open mind. I was prepared to overlook the little details that bugged me, the redesigned ship, the Apple bridge... I even LIKED the new uniforms (though the rank stripes are too small and close together). The performances were generally good.

The problem was the writing. There were too many plot holes and plot devices, and egregious ones at that. There were too many things left unexplained or left looking ridiculous. There was too much ignorance of established canon (and I'm not even referring to the things that happened after Nero supposedly changed things... I'm talking about things like Chekov being the same general age as Sulu and the others, I'm talking about Spock inexplicably abandoning logic and Vulcanism to make out with Uhura - things like this that the death of Kirk's father wouldn't have affected at all). I couldn't stand it.

I wanted to enjoy it. Unfortunately, like most Star Trek fans, I have half a brain and wasn't blinded by the flashy effects and lens flare, and saw what a terribly written piece of trash it was.

The Spock is easy to explain, with the events of Nero destroying Kirk's Father ship, Starfleet reacted by shuffling people around and doing things differently. Additionally, the survivors would have forced shifting personel around too. This would have resulted in people not being in the same place as before, people that might have influenced Spock and his choices. Might have even influenced the fact that he might not have an arranged marriage now, and so is free to persue his own intrest in regards to a mate. It would also change the people around around him that would have counseled him on his choice of career, or the lack of those people he would have seeked counsel from. SO many little things will have changed that would have steamrolled in much larger chages just from this one event that the timeline can be altered to any whim that the writers dare to go.

It really doesn't take much thought to see this possibility.
Federation: Fleet Admiral Zombee (Alien Tactical)::Fleet Admiral Danic (Vulcan Science)::Fleet Admiral Daniel Kochheiser (Human Engineer)
KDF: Dahar Master Kan (Borg Klingon Tactical)::Dahar Master Torc (Alien Science)::Dahar Master Sisteric (Gorn Engineer)
RR-Fed: Citizen Sirroc (Romulan Science)::Fleet Admiral Grell (Alien Engineer)
RR-KDF: Fleet Admiral Zemo (Reman Tactical)::Fleet Admiral Xinatek (Reman Science)::Fleet Admiral Bel (Alien Engineer)
TOS-Fed: Fleet Admiral Katem (Andorian Tactical)::Lieutenant Commander Straad (Vulcan Engineer)

    To clarify:

Galaxy class (aka, exploration cruiser retrofit) released way back.
Fleet Galaxy released when the other Fleet ships were released.
T5U option released under a year ago.

In the past 4 or 5 years, the Galaxy thread people have been pushing for something to boost the damage or science potential for the ship. LTC tac, universal ensign seat, among others were proposed. Hypothetical 3pack stats were even suggested by DDIS and others at some point. But regardless of all this work and research, the Devs did nothing to change the Galaxy's boff seating or increase the number of tac consoles, while charging us 500 ZEN for fleet modules and 700 ZEN for T5U upgrades. So basically we would pay for the same problem.

Now they've released the ship we've always wanted - Ens Uni, LTC tac, and 3 tac console slots, and a new costume to boot. Only a small fraction of Galaxy enthusiasts are displeased with the result. I hardly see any "rage" about something that shows Cryptic is taking our suggestions seriously in addition to making profit, as opposed to just making profit as they have done in the past. Please check before you post*. Thanks.

*if your "Iconic ships have 3 tac consoles; the rage is great" refers to that idiot's post here, ignore him. He's just complaining because he can, not because he has a logical reason.

I think a lot of people are missing the console too. It gives passive +5 to power caps, meaning all power levels can be at 130 100% of the time. That's a really really nice boost.

And it works on the galaxy-x too which is also freaking awesome :)
