bug on minor ship components and major

so i noticed something today, i did an stf mission (conduit) and got myself a nice little minor ship injury, and when the mission was over i tried to repair said injury with a minor ship component, which did not work. i click on repair and the injury remains, aswell as the components in my inventory. So i have to ask, what is the point in having ship components if everytime you get an injury you have to go to engineering anyway to fix it? which is the only way i can get rid of injuries.
