The Crypticism or the Crapticing or the Cryptocalypse. Whatever it is, just makes me miss the good old days where bad things happened most of the time. not all the time.
Is this pretty typical behavior for this game? Only on patch days, or most of the time?
I've been playing for maybe 3 weeks and the connections issues are just terrible. Enough DC's to make me take notice.
But from what I've read so far, it's definitely my fault.
LOL.. let me tell you how Cryptic works.
First most of their content/ships/ new stuff... are tested internatlly... or if not they're tested by a hand chosen focus group... read people who will toe the party line and tell them that Delta Rising is the greatest expanion ever and the people will love it!
Second, the rare times the stuff that is released on tribble (our test server) is just for preview. I'd say 6/10 times a bug is found on tribble and reported via all kinds of methods... that bug is still going to go live.
Third, every season, and every FE.... you're going to get major lag and crashes. It's the Cryptic way. Not sure if it's because they're cheap TRIBBLE servers can't handle the influx or because the content is so bug riddled it's pathetic... or the engine is so duct taped and riddled with bugs that Cyrptic hasn't fixed in 5 years even though they've been told about it time and time again that now this is actually working as intended.
Fourth, Either way Cryptic isn't going to take the hit on this. Any naysayers are wrong and it's their fault... and they have enough loyalists hoping to get into the test program by kissing TRIBBLE (see point one) that Cryptic actually believes the loyalists. Anything that can't be proven as the players faults is spun more then Bill O'Reilly giving the news that by the time it's done you get things like Delta Rising is the best expansion ever and the players love it!
And people still believe them.

Can we just wait and see what happens before playing the blame game? It's not a conspiracy. It's a glitch in the system. When dealing with something as complex as MMOs they happen.
Lets just wait for official word or the server to come back before jumping to conclusions please.
I was patching STO when you guys started reporting the server down. I'm probably gonna end up patching again if this is to fix the problems with the new mission.

No different then any other MMO. They do need to extend patch time to 4 hours instead of 2. Just to test the holodeck themselves, before they release completly broken story missions.
The people who support the game, ( not cryptics "buisness policys" ) are well aware of the fact ATARI screwed cryptic over, when cryptic bought the game.
This is so typical. Was about to finish CE Adv to get rep marks when I got DCed. I get DCed every 10 minutes, but that's another story. The fact that I couldn't log back in is what sets me off. We've come to expect bugs after patches. This is a bad habit we need to drop. The reason there are pugs after a patch is because they have yet to go back and fix current bugs. If you build a building with subpar materials on a bad foundation, it will always collapse.
Stop releasing content until you fix ALL of the bugs that ruin or aggravate us, Cryptic. If you have a solid foundation, then you can release content that has been very thoroughly tested, and cut the chance of bugs in half or more. You also need to work on your relationship with this community. At least when Atari was in control, they actually listened to us and gave us updates and apologies. I never thought I would say something positive about Atari. Now PWE has the dev's release articles about game content and dev's bragging about what they've created.
You got a lot of free2play players right now. If you're not careful, you will lose them. They are not used to putting up with the bugs among other fallacies. You need to ensure that if they sub to this game, it won't fall apart on them. Putting out promotions for first time buyer's isn't going to cut it. You will eventually have to face us and explain whatever disaster you cause in the future. A few years ago we lost at least half of the player base because problems were not addressed. Tell me, PWE, could you afford to lose a third or more of your subs? Get your act together and stop acting like Atari.
"Being a troll myself, I classify this malcontent as a Type-2 Oblivious Troll. My reasons for coming to this conclusion are: The annoying colored text he deploys, the contradictory threads he creates, the excessive whining and foot stamping, the amusement factor of his threads, and the apparent lack of realization that he is in fact a troll, like me, and is not the heart broken, victimized, player, he sees himself as."

Uhm ... uhm ... did you read any MMO News recently ? ...

They'll give a canned apology and say get over it. That's the same thing as if STO was never down at all.
we keep paying them for subpar redundancy and game breaking mechanics
I AM NOT A FAN OF PWE!!!!
