I have recently purchased the Lobi store "Photonic Tactical Officer Candidate" , and I just finished my trial run with said officer in the Dyson Sphere Battlezone .
The results were less then favorable .
While I'm used to the less then intuitive AI that our Boffs use , the Photonic Tactical Boff went out of his way to ... pretty much do nothing .
Example One : Said Boff is fired upon from several directions (including a Voth soldier that was quite close) , and he ... just stood there .
This has been it's reaction often , while equally often it would not even face neither incoming enemies , nor incoming fire that hit him .
Example Two : While standing still and doing nothing , one can observe that the little Photonic Drone that the Boff can create is more intuitive in engaging in combat then the Photonic Boff that spawned it (who is standing still) .
Could it be that something is perhaps wrong with this Lobi item -- as it's advertised as a combat trooper , and not as a costly vanity item .

The top bar in the team window above your boffs are commands that tell all boffs at once how to behave. You want to click the 'X' button. When you hover your mouse over it it will say "Crew will perform attack actions normally", meaning all of your boffs will attack and use their abilities automatically when needed.
On the left of each boff in the team window are commands for each boff so you can give each of them a different set of commands but the bar at the top sets all of them to the same command.

I wish he was .
At times the only way I could get him to do anything was to click on his "fire on my target" icon .
But once that group of enemies was killed , he went back to being stupid .
And BTW , if he was in Passive Mode , I don't think he would have spawned his little Holo-Drone , as that's an offensive act , and he was regularly activating his other powers as well .
Except 50-60% of the time he didn't really respond to threats / damage .
But thanks for the suggestion anyway .
... I'll give him another go later ... , but today I'm not in the mood for more disappointments ...
I'll switch him back to the flamethrower later (highly visible) and see if he's fighting.
- I see he's holding the MACO Battle Rifle. What other equipment is he geared up with?
- What abilities does he have slotted?
- Did this only occur on the Capture-and-Hold points in the BZ, or across the whole zone?
- Was this behavior happening in zones other than the Voth BZ?

"Play smart!"
He was equipped with a full MACO Mk XII set (not the adapted one) .
Other then that , he had the hypo's he came with and a regular remodulator (the one that we can replicate) .
He had stock abilities , nothing was changed on him .
(but on further consideration , I plan to remove "Draw Fire" from him as he seems to die way too often from Voth fire -- and they use Antiproton and not Tetryon to which he's supposedly vulnerable )
Well I tried to re-create the issue on the Dyson BZ , but I was not successful , as he did not bug out like he did previously .
Not sure what else I can say bout that , except it could have been a one time bug of some kind .
One other thing that I noted was that the little Photonic Drone that the Boff can create , reliably engages enemies and fires a shot about every 2 seconds .
The Boff OTOTH rus around a lot and fires less frequently .
... that's all I got ...
What would be the difficulty to get our boffs to use their firearms more often to be more alike they player (us)?
Is it just a matter of inserting a few additional strings to give "user firearm" a higher priority?
I mean, I feel like that the boffs need to fire closer to the rate I do when playing.. Does that make sense?
