So HOW EXACTLY is my old bug now at T6 capabilities when you're just launching a new one?! Stand by your words and give me the option to get an equal ship! Make people pay 1000 zen if you must but don't just throw another gamble into our face and don't just trash what we paid HUGE sums for.
I feel like you just spat into my face.

I guess you're missing the point ...
Welcome to big fat lies Cryptic says. The other one being DR is the best expansion ever and players love it.
I do feel bad for people who spent tons of money on this. Be prepared for the fanboys that will throw the book at you and say Cryptic can change the terms of anything whenever they want and bla bla bla.
Yeah, and if you're able to get a good trait (like the Manasa's trait), it's still a great ship.
That being said, it's not the greatest decision in the world, on Cryptic's part. At the very least, it's unnecessary... at most, well, you can read others' comments.
THAT being said... I be getting it.

Considering a bug report on this one, they've done something about my last 3...

TBH ... they managed to "pull a Cryptic" on me in this case ... I didn't even realize, until now that the original "promise" was an T6-Upgrade ... mostly because I was lucky enough to get a JHAS out of 10 "Red Presents" back in the day ... so it was never really "precious" to me ... I feel for people spending thousands of dollars, though ...
You're hilarious ... and when Cryptic said "T5(U) wouldn't become obsolete", they meant "would become obsolete"
PS : Thanks for the whole "you should have known what I meant" - Argument, picturing Cryptic as some nagging housewife, right now ... hilarous, made my day ...
I mean, the writing was on the wall with the Pathfinder, and their Promotion Packs have always been a hit. It was only a matter of time.
But this sets another precedent; how long before the T6 Voth Bulwark? Preferably with a Self-Resurrection Mastery Trait and a console option to call in a Voth Citadel Dreadnought (shares CD with the Fleet Support/Nimbus Pirate Distress Call) please.
and since it will cost 400-500MIL EC on exchange im not going to gt it
Tier 5u was always a bad idea in my eyes, but Cryptic and I often disagreed on ship power levels. I hated the lower-tier Refits like the Rhode Island, too.
When Cryptic said "T5U won't become obsolete," they meant "in the next 5 minutes."
Or invest in the old JHAS, which I'm sure is already plummeting in price because some waited too long to sell.
Of course, it'd be even better if the new JHSS allowed purchase of JHSS Frigate pets, or at least the old JHAS Frigate pets.
i have to wonder why they didnt simply say 't5u' then.
actually i dont wonder at all. i know why.

We all know why... at the time they had a bug R&D promo going on. One last chance to cash in big on the old one. By letting people think they where getting a T6 ship. Bait and switch, would be illegal if this TRIBBLE wasn't online.
Cryptic is the biggest slime ball Developer out there. I really don't know why people still play this junk.
I now only play STO solely to RP and get immersed into some version of Star Trek and try really hard to ignore the many things that drive me up the wall. Like the fleets of non-Starfleet, non-KDF, and non-Romulan ships everywhere being flown by Starfleet, KDF, and Romulan captains. It's about as crazy as the U.S. military deciding to use the Russian T-90 as their MBT. It just doesn't happen.
A freaking Jem'Hadar Attack Ship was the most powerful ship in the game for the longest time. And the devs never truly desired to change that. Delta Rising should have been a fresh start, but nothing has really changed.
Sadly, most game developers go this route these days. EA would pull this garbage in Madden (a console game, no less).
No I have seen plenty of developers selling Power.... to be honest not many most sell cosemtics.
I can't recall EVER seeing another one pull a full on bait and switch. Advertising one thing then doing another. As I said, if the ships we where buying where real items and not pixles it would be illegal in every state and province in NA, and the EU as well. No one selling say a car cause people love to use that one ... could say order now and get a 2018 model and then deliver a 2017 and so oh well, thanks for your coins.
The Vesta does twice the damage and is more durable.
Now if there ever is a T6 Vesta or Xindi Aquatic - sign me up!
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
Sorry. RP'ing isn't fun to me. I play this because it's an MMO, and the Star Trek stuff is a side benefit. I'm glad you're having fun with RP'ing or whatever else you're doing. That doesn't mean that your method of enjoyment is the only right one.

This is exactly what EA did with the Madden NFL franchise. Charge $60 USD every year for a roster change and updated team schedules? Remove features only to return them as "new" a few years later? Then instituting a card-based system in both mobile and console systems, in which you upgrade your team/players by buying the latest card? Oh, and those two systems (mobile and console) aren't compatible, so you'll have to buy cards twice?
That's why I no longer own a Playstation, or support Electronic Arts. This is nothing new in gaming.
Well there ya go... Cryptic is right up there with EA. lol
You have to love Crytpics though... there lie is only a few months old at this point. They made a point of saying other ships would be T5U but they singled the bug out as being something different and it being on par with T6. Of course while they had a promo on that people where spending $ on to gain a ship they read by Cryptics hand would be T6. Now what 5 months later they release the real T6 Version of it.
In the EA case being years apart I could understand excuses, and reasoning like the plans changed and it wasn't planed.
In Cryptics case this one is 100% planned... and they where 100% lying and being intentionally misleading when the last bug promo was on.
I wish the player base of STO wasn't filled with so many window lickers, cause a move like this would seriously kill most developers.
Ok, not quite table flip mad but it sure was salt in the wounds.
They should have just made all T5 ships T5-U since you can't get the ship trait below T6.
I hope Excalibur gets finished asap https://www.youtube.com/user/ExcaliburGame
^^^With this being said, Craptic, go #$%^ yourself. More lies?!?!?!? REALLY???!?!?! After the Tau Dewa debacle?!?!? In your own damn post you CLEARLY indicated to all current bug ship owners would get a free T6 upgrade.
No longer impressed. I will play your game for R&D Only, Take your metrics and Delta Rising and Rot well you know where...
Sorry but I can't resist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ednKK8GlvwI
Now that's out my system, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, but yes they did say the Bug was going up to T6, so really I can foresee a lot of upset over this, and I can fully understand it, this is just another cash grab from Cryptic and sad to see how blatant it is but it just goes to show there's no shame in this company any more
