Since Askray (spit!) closed the thread before I could provide the evidence I was asked for:
Quoth Askray:
{Redacted details so a Mod doesn't have to}
...staff member of cryptic studios or perfect world entertainment...
{Redacted details so a Mod doesn't have to}
It would appear this is supposed to look like a copy/paste of a form letter sent out after moderating the OP's past post, but what strikes me as odd is that this alleged "official" message does not capitalize the names of the represented companies, Cryptic and Perfect World. Keep in mind, this letter, if it were to actually exist, is likely a prepared batch of text inserted into the message, and would generally not be something that was just a case of Askray not using the Shift key.
So, I suspect that the OP, while still breaking a number of TOS rules, isn't actually breaking the rules about posting private correspondence, because I think the "letter" is a fabrication.
*Looks at suspect post count*
13
Hm... yea... I admit that is suspect. How would someone with only 13 posts be familiar with Askray?
To be fair, IIRC, I got modded in my 1st post here. Yeah, Nerdrage. Either my forum search skillz are failing me or the thread got canned, though; I can't find it.

Meh - used to be a formum mod elsewhere... the banhammer is coming. I can smell it in the wind...
But can't wait around for it... I have qommondations to go fetch...
So have I. The level of forum moderation quality does scale with the amount of money funneled into it. I could most definitely say I would police a forum much more enthusiastically with a paycheck at the end of the week.
bergins, you assume that was a form letter. There is nothing to base that assumption on.

Yes*.
I made that assumption based on past experience, it is a SOP in many higher-volume moderated environments to have a set of premade responses, not only to make a Mod's job easier, but to be sure it appears that all the Mods are working from the same rulebook.
I'm assuming the OP presented this letter, making it look like a Form Letter (or maybe even altering the Form Letter they DID get) so it would seem more... real. They just forgot to use the Shift Key a few times.

I would bet good EC that the OP was moderated for a post they are not even thinking about. Often if you get a finger slapping its for something that happened days ago after an offended party reports it.
In any event haha... may not agree with all the moderation all the times. In general though I think they get it right, and rarely do they go as far as to ban someone outright. In this case as the OP was able to post this thread, obviously they got nothing more then a warning. Not sure what there is to get upset about, clearly something the OP typed made someone feel the need to report it, Or a mod to warn them after seeing it.
No idea why people these days can't just accept they crossed a line, even if they feel they didn't go far enough to warrant moderation. Suck it up and move on... if moderation goes further then a simple warning. Then there are ways to take it up with higher powers if you feel there is a need. Or better yet, examine your own English / People Skills, perhaps just perhaps the fault is yours.
Actually..now that you mention it, my warning had the correct shift key usage as well. It also had a link to the ToS along with the offending post. With ALL of these missing...yeah I think we can say more then just LIKELY that the message has been edited/made up.

Moderation is a volunteer service here. So, you get what you pay for.
Keep telling yourself that.
This is appropriate.
I'm going back to playing Minecraft.

How does one apply the naming and shaming rule when the one being named and shamed in the OP is the OP himself?

Yes, and if IBTL were not expressly mentioned in the Forum Rules as being against the rules, there would be a whole lot of posts saying it...
In this case, the OP is actually trying to name and shame a forum moderator for supposedly imposing a fraudulent, or merely incorrect, punishment...

Please do not remove Askray from moderation team. He is doing a superb job under some very hard conditions from what I have seen.
Thanks
