I know, based on info from other non-official sites, that there are some new T6 Command ships coming out, but now is the time to start looking at the rest of our favorite (outdated) T5 ships for revision as T6 with Command Officer slots (i.e., Defiant, Prometheus, Galaxy, Sovereign, Luna). Maybe some should be given the Intrepid treatment with an Intelligence Officer, but these favorite ships need to be made viable. At the same time, it has to be in a way that does not make it double dip into our wallets.
I know that T5U and Fleet T5U are suppose to be viable, but the longer it is put on the side line, the longer the game has to deal with key missing components to the Trek legacy... the key lore ships types.

I'd be happy if ships like the Guardian, which is not a specified Intel ship, was compatable with either Intel or Command and future specializations.
I was sort of hoping that a T6 Luna-class refit could've come about in the same manner the Pathfinder was offered, but rather than having an hybrid intel seat, it'd have an hybrid command seat (in inspiration of "Admiral Riker").
I think if they do decide to release anymore older ships as a tier 6 version, the flagship classes (Odyssey for Feds, Bortasqu' for Klingons and Scimitar for Romulans) should be given this treatment since in the story, they're still considered as flagships.
Personally, It'd be nice to see legacy T5 ships and up, have hybrid universal specialization boff stations, where they would take any boff regardless of chosen spec. This since Intel and Command won't be the only specializations to come, and we can only still have so many maximum ships in our (server) dry-dock, and it would give new life and flexibility to older ships, for those that want to still fly them.
Kinda getting bloated anyway, with all these ships that are proving no better than extra bank space, anymore. (At least that's how I treat my ships, some I haven't flown in a couple of years now. :P )

But if the ships are there ("I know that T5U and Fleet T5U are suppose to be viable"), then how are they "key missing components to the Trek legacy"...?
FT5U vs. FT6...+1 BOFF ability, access to unlock a Starship Trait (that can be used on any ship), and potential access to hybrid BOFF seats.
So it's basically the +1 BOFF ability...
Cause the hybrid BOFF seat wouldn't be much different than wanting a Cmdr Tac on a Galaxy or any of the other BOFF seating things, even wanting a higher ranked Intel/Command seat on the T6 ships...it's a BOFF seat that's not available sort of thing.
Why would they do that? They want to sell you new ships, not support old ones. Its like those chewing gum commercials where the guy gets suckerpunched by the gum company because he's been chewing the same piece for so long. The model isn't built around you using the same ship year after year.
I could see them releasing a T6 variant of the Defiant, Galaxy, and the 2410 flagships... those would be highly sought after (see my sig!).
The Sovereign, the Excelsior, and Vesta... maybe. (I have high hopes for the Vesta.)
The Prometheus, Luna, and other "one-off" ships like that... I doubt it. The Prometheus appeared in two episodes of Voyager... that's it. The Luna never appeared at all. I just don't see Cryptic making those.

personally I think that cryptic should retroactively add specialization seats to the older ships. especially the T5 and T5U ships since they are flown in the endgame.
this would allow for the greatest diversity in the ships available for play and is therefore imho the best solution.
THE NEW CRAFTING SYSTEM IS TERRA-BAD First of all it's not even a crafting system! It's just a dumb game system that's nothing more than a glorified slots machine.
second the "special items" you hope will be the saving the saving grace are messed up to.
i agree with op, my c-store defiant is only used to store gear on, also it seems they want me to pay money to make it t5u only to have it still be worthless
your better off putting the zen towards a phantom.. Dont waste an upgrade token on this outdated junk
