Those of you that have had the last straw broken with the Dil fiasco, we need to use this to put an end to DEV abuse. We are customers, we pay for this service. Yes you can create an account for free, but to truly experience this game you need to pay. I have supported this game since beta, with subscriptions and zen purchases of more than 2 thousand dollars in in the past 5 years. I have given countless hours to playing this game and while I do take breaks of several months at a time I did enjoy this game before "pay to craft" and DR.
I feel we are just being taken advantage of because we love this franchise so much and its easy to get lost trying to enjoy it and we forget what it was like to actually enjoy it.At first we did not have to GRIND endlessly to achieve XP and the even the best items were attainable in a respectable time frame not years.
We are not getting this game for free, a ton of us pay to play this game, others invest massive amounts of time into it and help those of us that are limited learn to play better and to enjoy our time more. Those days are gone though. Helping players power through advanced by powerful ships carrying one or two lower players are done. Experimenting with new builds and different factions are over, because they have monetized improvement. They take and take from this game and give nothing little back. Sure we get a few story episodes with the VA of the Voyager cast, but cmon......what movie of the week was Jeri Ryan pulled from to do the VO work, that didnt break the bank and it was all done it an afternoon.
We should not settle for this, we need to show we are fed up. I appreciate the poster that advised a "sit-in" during the podcast later, but I feel that the better solution is everyone that has been affected by this close their wallets for one week and dont log in....FOR ONE WEEK......thats all, we arent going to miss anything, but a large portion of us not buying or logging in will effect change, we will be heard and if not, we go another week.
This game has its militant defenders that will chastise me Im sure, but those of you that are like minded, reach out to your friends, get them to stop until we have open communication from this company, not a response, someone asking how to get this game to be fun again for everyone, not just a select few. Until then we need to say good bye to this game, because it has not improved in a very long time and no one can argue against that. We need to force them to speak to us.
Can we start this from Monday? I'm away for a week so I won't be playing anyway.

Dev abuse? Um... our brand new Exec Producer extended the DL weekend to make up for a miscommunication.
I'm not happy with the XP levels either, but I'm willing to let them balance things out over time. I mean they did recently balance out the kill XP for non Delta species, so that ships of the same "class" give the same XP. A strike isn't going to fix anything. Constructive Feedback will.

I disagree. Hurting their precious metrics will make them listen to the constructive feedback that has been provided by the players since DR was launched.
I applaud the OP for being one of the few posters on the forums to realize that Cryptic/PWE will never take the criticism seriously because most of those who do that still play the game. And why would they listen to them if they still play despite being so disappointed by the constant nerfs?
Actually, I haven't played since the early days of DR when it became apparent they will not ease off on the xp and specialization point grind. I came back for the anniversary but I only log in to do some doffing because, for the most part, the game is still in the sorry state it was when I left.
I'll keep on eye on this thread as I'm curious what the general opinion will be. However, I doubt many people will stop logging in for a week, no matter how fed up/angry/disappointed with the game they claim to be.

After seeing people complain about everything getting nerfed instead of understanding what was really going on, we got clarification FROM the new Exec Producer himself and an extension. I don't see this as "padding" metrics. I see this as a step in the right direction in the way of communication from the Devs.
Besides... I personally find actually playing the game more fun than sitting there doing nothing but grinding down a massive stockpile of marks just for a few extra DL when you still can only refine 8k a day. If I traded marks for DL on a DL weekend... *shrug* Ok. I got a a bit more DL. I'm not going to hoard thousands for an event just to spend hours turning them in 50 at a time.

Is it more fun to turn them in daily or weekly? Immediately on acquisition? Please tell me the correct way of sliding - then explain how this sliding is different than omega hero sliding?

Hurting their metrics wont get the results you want. This is because they do not understand the meaning in those metrics and will only apply the meaning they want.
Ya know we get these threads at least once a month and have for years. While I get that people want to force change, this obviously isn't the way to do it and the amount of flaming that comes from these threads tends to be enormous so I'm just going to go ahead and close this one down now.

Am I happy with game, well yes, and no!
The No comes from me wanting a uber DPS monster ship and not being able to get it instantly - My Issue and I will deal with it.
Mostly, I love STO and it has done nothing but improve over the years ( Played since day one launch)
which conveniently pads their metrics further, which is one of the reasons for the event in the first place.
The right thing to do would have been to revert the change.
