"Dust to Dust" award system

So this mission has 3 components awards (engine , shield , deflector) , but each is listed with a different date (Feb 5 , 12 , 19) .

Am I getting this right that each will be available for one week only ... , or is it that each component is released in a different week and then they will remain as awards ??

I seem to remember last year's Anniversary having a Solane component that was only available at the Anniversary (can't remember which one it was at the moment ...) .

Was there some info about this in a Blog that I didn't read ?

Each piece will be made available on their respective dates. Don't think it's a limited time deal. Apparently this seems to have been done to satisfy metrics and encourage logins at these times.

I think this is done to "force" players to log at certain time, to make it look people are logging all month, and regularly.

Anyway, I hate it. Really. It's bad.
But then, the entire event is terrible. Broken minigame, forcing us to move across the galaxy 3 times EVERY DAY, loadout and BOFF completely messed up, cashgrab for training our BOFF into a specialization (33Kdil for a single token)...

Sooner or later, enough is enough. 67 days gone and counting for me and my now heavier wallet. I am fed up with being blatantly manipulated by an activity I supposedly do for fun and leisure.

Much like the last few things I won't do this one either. When I can do it when it suits me and how it suits me it's fun. When not it's a job. And I as I've not yet received a pay check I'll simply check out.

Wouldn't this work on the contrary though? If the reason for the specific dates is to entice people to replay the missions on those dates, then it seems unlikely it isn't a limited time deal. As it stands, it's a 'play and claim before you lose out' deal. After the last date, I expect them to become unavailable.

I did the mission and now have a duplicate reward grayed out for the feb 5th one. It may be that you can do it before the date but just can't claim it until the date - just a theory.

In case it wasn't clear, each additional reward will be added to the choices on the listed dates. They aren't mutually exclusive, or time-limited.

Yeah thanks for the update but you really need to work on making these things more obvious. From the way the mission details looks it makes it look like you only have 1 day for each item, very confusing.

I'll just wait until all rewards are available before I bother playing it. Silly date gating makes no sense.

I am frankly still confused about how it works. Can you not do it until the 5th? Or can you do it 3 times now then wait? But then, I am an old man.

It's kind of funny, really. Last Anniversary Introduced several things but among them was the Solanae Space Set. But you weren't strung out across weeks to get the Deflector, Engine, Shield for the set like they're doing with the Kobali Space Set.

From what I understand, don't quote me on it, you can run the mission now and get the base rewards. Then from the 5th onwards you can run it again to get the Deflector. Then from the 12th onwards you can run it again to get the Engines. Then from the 19th you can run it again to get the Shield...

Like having to run it four or five times to get all possible rewards wasn't enough, they had to put a silly date gate on how soon we can actually get those rewards.

That's how I saw it too. I ran it for the 400 now anyway but I'll wait 'til the 5th to try again.

If it isn't available for another 3 weeks, not worth playing for another 3 weeks.

Still, by making the anniversary timegated to when you're even allowed to farm, it does seem appropriate for what the decision-makers have turned the game into, doesn't it?

Borticus, what's the thought process behind the time-gating? I mean why are you guys limiting when the rewards are being released?

my question is when we resolve the mission after the 5th do we get the costume and one of the set pieces or do we need to choice between them ?

My question is this: Is it required to play "Dust to Dust" more than one time to get the deflector, impulse engine and shields? I have had people tell me that it is required but I can't find definitive proof of this. Do we have to or not?

Yes, you'd have to play it a total of three times (after the dates the items become available) to get all three parts of the space set. Four times if you want the uniform, five times if you want the beam array.

Yes, obviously, if I may say. You get to choose ONE of them per mission reward, then play again. Sadly, same as the Step Between Stars mission, and same as Boldly They Rode. You have to play the same missions multiple times to get more than one reward.

Why would anyone want the beam array? AFAIK it's just a blue Polaron array.

    Exactly

PWE doesn't want to see people already having all the gear and ships in the first two days before Anniversary ends...

Log in across a time frame than having it front-loaded heavy then dead near the end of the anniversary

I liked the missions but I'm not repeating it for the engies, shields, deflector. Those things aren't useful to the three characters I'll have left after I delete two more alts after dilithium weekend. Wouldn't even be really good for them either quite honestly. Also the Kobali ship is nice at first but I'm not going to keep flying that either. I likes my romulan ships and Qib.

Finally as for the Kobali boff from the mission, I'm making her sleep next to Tovan. Maybe she'll eat his brains and he'll be gone when I wake up one morning so I can free up a boff slot on my Romulan that's been locked since day 1. If she does, I'll keep her like the Cannible Tribble of Boffs. ;)

I really have no idea, but given Smirk's posts about making sure to pick the outfit first because people who took the beam array now can't get the outfit (until next weeks patch) I'm guessing some weird people do haha.

The official statement is in the game, where it says "Choose one of the following".... Meaning you can only choose one from each play through...

I'm sure most of the rewards will hang around after the event. They usually do. Which is why I'm in no hurry to do it. Plus I got far enough this morning for the Boff. Which to me was a best reward. As the outfit, I hope it hangs around for my other characters to get. Which I won't be getting it on them within the week. Since I still have my Romulan and KDF to go through it. Plus I will be doing it much later at Lv60 anyways. Since I refused to see the story. So it won't ruin the story for me. Due to I hadn't finished it on the other missions. So I didn't read the chat, didn't have my speakers on, and turned my head during the cut scenes so I wouldn't see them. Why I was doing them? Mainly for the Boff and outfit. I hope the Boff also hangs around cause my Future Sci character could use them as well.

Only item looked good to me was the shield? I think it would be worth to get at the end.
