If "everyone should know by now" that should include the company itself... they should list the promotion to take that into account, and not include hours when they know that the server will be down.
Advertising it as a 24-hour promotion is just flat-out wrong. It's not the end of the world, but here's the thing... it got me to come back to the game after being away for over a year... and I know others have come back as well... and believe me, that's a lot of people who "don't know by now"
