You know what would be nice? If it's a science shop that can emulate the features of any other ship, so it can equip any ship specific console. A science carrier with a secondary deflector.
I just got the breen ship, that I want to keep for the special consoles.
Regardless of what it looks like, I'd suggest getting it anyway...hey, it's another Ship Trait, and who knows, it might be magnificent.
It can't be worse than the space love boat right? ...right?
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
the 24th Century takes place after the 1950's, I've heard.
A pink ship. Uggh! May as well have Hello Kitty and Lisa Frank stickers all over the hull while they're at it.
And I'm sure the Cryptic staff will later try to polish this t*rd and tell us how everyone just loves their prancy Pepto-Bismol colored foo-foo ship. Only the stupid people will fall for it, of course.
Hater!
It will be awesome. I already like it and i don't even know what the layout, looks etc! :P

BTW, did you hear that the Command skill icons are also pink? :P

Provided the final design doesn't change from now until the update, the top-down image you'd see on your HUD would roughly be that of a fantasy sword. Just with an impractical hilt (fat close to the guard and quickly narrowing down to where the pommel would be).
Now I'm imagining that the Kobali ship should be capable of bonus damage from Ramming Speed. As if we're being stabby-stabby with a flying, sword-shaped, spaceship.
Also, Pink is a reasonable color. Hot pink is where you should be concerned.
I think I should point this out cause some of you over looked this part or didn't know about it but there is also a Vaudwaar ship becoming available to us as well. So if you think about we have now 3 possible ships.....
T6 Nova
Kobali
and a Vaadwaur
I would have to guess that the Vaadwaur ship will be T6
Unless they spring a new ship on us that hasn't been leaked, or decide to throw out all that work for something else this close to the Anniversary, we're getting:
1 T6 Kobali Ship - Class Unknown; Mastery and Console suggest Cruiser or Sci.
1 T6 Vaadwaur Assault Escort
1 T6 Vaadwaur Heavy Battlecruiser - Visually, it's the broadside cruiser
1 Vaadwaur Fighter - Shuttle
1 T5 APU Cruiser - No clue what the heck it does; it looks like a floating rock with temples on it. Presumably the "Mirror Ship" of the box.
And unlikely to be released, a Kazon Heavy Battlecruiser.
Of course, that still leaves whatever new C-Store ships they have in store, and given how they first pad it with new originals, I don't forsee a T6 Nova or a T6 Galaxy or a T6 Defiant for awhile.

Do not post trademarked and/or copyrighted materials (e.g., articles, videos, photos, audio, etc.) that you do not have permission to reproduce, distribute, display, perform, create derivative works of and/or otherwise use. Posts regarding content which has been released in other world territories prior to being released in PWE's supported locales (North America and Europe) are, however, permitted.
Well, the Kobali ship is already confirmed. So we can discuss how much we love it.
It should be a Sci ship. Why? Because everyone needs more Sci ships. Especially the KDF and Romulans. And the fact it's a Sci ship belonging to a relatively peaceful parasite race who only wish to play the defensive game would take the rage to a whole new level. And since the Kobali just want to play the defensive game, a Sci ship fits; paralyzing, disabling, and "gently" killing enemies to reintegrate as more Kobali, as well as providing a new ship to strip down and turn into more Collector ships.
Wow, you guys find out the ship is Kobali and suddenly it's pretty much all hate.
I'm waiting to see WHAT we have in design and stats before I judge the ship as well as the back story behind it.
Also, seriously...posting something that will get you banned from the forums people? There is a special place in Gre'thor for you.
EDIT: I also put as much faith in anything being accurate as me having warm, alligator-filled swampland on a planet orbiting a Black Hole in the Andromeda Galaxy to my name.
Oooh anniversary ships! Remember last year? Good times... You had to grind for the base ship, per toon. Then buy the real ship from the c-store at full price, or buy the 3x bundle for $50, or the 3x3 bundles for $100. And if you didn't grind for the base ship you had to go back and buy it with Lobi (per toon) to get the items that weren't on the c-store ship. Oh and the special weapons that required special consoles that were only available for dilithium. And then the ships were made obsolete by DR.
More interested in the Kobali set the anniversary mission will reward than the actual Kobali ship itself. (Seeing as they use polarons, I REALLY hope it's a Drain/Flow Capacitor set.)
That said, the box icon/image for it almost makes it look more sword-shaped than the other, blocky Kobali ships we see in the Delta Quadrant. Something of a cross between a Vulcan and Undine profile.
With secondary deflectors coming about, I expect the Kobali ship to be a science ship.
I get a bad feeling that in order to craft any good 2nd Deflectors, you're going to need a GODLY RARE BOFF that has a trillion to one chance of dropping from a lockbox.
(Yes, I know that some deflectors will drop from kills too, but what are the chances it'll be a deflector that you can get some use out of?)
No, I crafted a very nice Secondary with the DOffs one of my characters got shipped to Tribble with, no GODLY UBER ULTRA MEGA SHINY SUPER-DUPER RARE anything needed.

Color me unenthusiastic
Yep. Their idea of "free" has so many strings attached it's ridiculous. If they don't release a gimped ship, it'll be a miracle.

Yeah, like the Winter and the Summer ships.
You need to buy a PC.
You need an internet connection.
You have to install Star Trek Online.
Then you have to play the game to level 5 or 10 or something.
Then you have to log in 25 times on seperate days or so to do some race or aerial flying or whatever.
And then you get that ship. And to be able to use it, you need to level another 40 levels or so!
It's quite ridonkulus!
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
Last year's anniversary was bad enough. I can't believe they found a way to make it worse this year by not even giving us faction ships, just another damned alien ship.
Well, I shouldn't say worse yet. If they do away with or significantly reduce the grind, it'll be better automatically. I fully expect an improved version to come up for cash - every one so far has in some form - so that part doesn't bug me. Besides, maybe the ship won't be that ugly this time!

This is why I might skip out on this one. Just got done grinding for a Breen carrier because I'm a Breen fan. The only thing that would have made me eager to grind again so soon would be a faction specific vessel.
Pink t-shirts and polos were popular among men in the 1980s.
Nowadays they're only popular during certain parades.

It's another piece of Cross-Faction copout, and it becomes WORSE if the stats are comparable to, or better than, faction specific ships already present.
"Generic single-Faction MMO".
This. I wonder how some poeple still keep their illusions of faction specific content up. Factions are gone, it is not object to STOs development anymore.

Why would you expect this one to be Sci? The blog clearly states its a cruiser, that means Eng.

Couldn't agree more. We need to start making kids walk to the store to pick up their Christmas presents.
