You forgot to mention above it too.
What I mean is that "skill points" or "expertise" could each potentially mean player or boff skill, they're rather non-descript labels.

Looking for something new to play? I've started building Foundry missions again in visual novel form!
how about a bonus XP foreseeable future, with a multiplier of about 4 or 5. then the game would be playable again, well not pvp, but the grind would be near reasonable.
Oh really? I can level a toon from 1 to 50 with episode missions just like I could three years ago. Every mission is a level, just like three years ago. 50 to 60 takes between one and two missions per level. EXP rates have not changed. If anything, they've been increased.
Well if that one person has any sort of influence over what PWE does to STO, you should talk to them more!
What are you talking about? When I ran my captain throughDR content, I would do all the content for that level, and still ahve about 1/2 a level to grind through.
I really don't understand what all the fuss is about. Episode missions still award 9k exp the first time you do them, just like they always have. Level 1-60 can be done with one episode mission per level, just like always. Everything after that is just end-game content and it SHOULD take a long time to get spec points past level 60.

A replay of Coliseum rewards ~2500.
A 90s Gerren Patrol rewards ~5700.

I just started level 59, I have about 150k to get to 60.
I felt a disturbance in the Argala system, as if millions of Kazons were killed.
Good thing I'm not someone who does what everyone else does. I don't go to that system unless it is the FIRST time doing it on a particular character. Why people think that everyone "must" go to that system is beyond me, as it isn't the only system in the game. Argala isn't even the fastest patrol in the game anyway.

All those "funny" little signatures say it so everyone goes there. Group thingie.
For me it's like you did I have gone to Argala twice with 2 different chars. But if everyone wants to just spent their time getting xp and nothing else, it's fine by me.
Galavant!

My advice, don't play DR content. Don't let them use this event to claim their stats prove that DR is the best expansion ever. Because we all know THE PLAYERS LOVE IT..:P

Aside from the xp reward for the patrol itself, there are a huge number of ships to destroy, meaning even more xp.
We're capped at 60 Spec Points...you can't earn more than that.
I was "lucky" and still had 15 more to go (Commando) when Commander Spec was announced. Been saving all my spec points since to go straight for the grinding passive, because that's what matters most now.
Translation: For this weekend, we are bringing the xp slightly closer to what it should be but we don't want it to be.

Actually, though I've only been playing this game for a little over a year and thus am not the longest standing player by any stretch, I am a long standing Star Trekker (indeed a costume of mine may just conceivably have influenced the development of the look of the Kazon, I wonder, and Kunz is my name, things that make you go hmm...) and I like the Delta expansion a great deal, for the ethical focus consistently present, which to me as a heartfelt Trekker I think is vital to the Trek itself. I haven't been able to appreciate some of the "edginess" Star Trek has fallen to sometimes in later years, and long for more of the clear evidence of ethical directive which we can see more clearly in the Delta expansion than perhaps we've seen quite so clearly in a while.
With the state of play these days, this "event" needs to be run "every" weekend.
Just saying.
Well in my opinion it should be the exp we get every day not a event and then double thatfor the event if they are trying to get some people to run delta.
i ran it for the story and a few times but i stay away for it because it a waste of time to me for what i like doing in game.
Not in to grinds that just make you waste time for little return.
If i was in to grinds i think i would have better results trying to dig to China with a spoon than grind a game just to grind.
While mission completion XP has doubled, NPC death XP has only increased by about 50%...
I will fill in a bug report.

I just logged in and found out that Doff missions, R&D, and Rep projects are not giving anymore experience than before. So either there is a problem with this content also, or it really is not suppose to be all content that gives experience.
I hope that one of the Developers can say something about it to try to clear this up soon.

Great, I'll just stop playing until the 20th then... Ok, fine, here's why;
Having just started a new character so that I could enjoy the game content again from the beginning (because I do), I'm now going to miss out on even more immersion than usual because of power leveling, also this is probably one of the dumbest things I've ever seen this lot do, introduce a major grind that's dire enough to cause a lot of people to simply stop caring what the end of the new story is, then try to alleviate the problem by throwing in a stop-gap measure that will mitigate (not solve) the problem for a single weekend. So, now the character that I just started will be boring to play and next time I start a new character I'm going to hit the grind wall all over again.
Why don't you just make the level gap reasonable? That's what people have been asking for since you implemented DR!

Doffing is. Like with the dilithium weekend or some other events the final result is different than what it says it will be when starting the mission.
I wouldn't think that this event would change the R&D or rep.

I guess it is only for any Doff missions that you queue up for during the event. All of the ones that I had running yesterday are all giving the same experience they were before. I wrote the amounts down yesterday, just to check to see if there was a bug. When they finished today, I got the same amount of experience they said yesterday, and before when I did them.
I will just start some of them today so that I can get them to start getting the bonus experience.

Me too. Oh, wait. I already do alot of doff missions for my six active (out of 7 total) characters every day. Sometimes twice a day.
I could use more dilithium, but that weekend isn't until early next month. (To self: "Patience, Grasshopper." "Yes, Master Po.")

This sucks. 'My' server says he's unavailable. He's in a complex relationship with a dev.
Why can't I find a nice stable server that lets me roleplay?

Frankly, this boost should be permanent, even at this 2x pace, it takes as much as it used to during the Tau Dewa exploit days to get one spec point.
