The greedy and the lazy .. or maybe worse

a few minutes ago in the dyson groud battlezone:

we barely took half of the zones, i was running through the city, passing the t-rex spawnpoint and what did i see?

at least 6 (six!) players already sitting there and waiting fo the rex.

how antisocial has someone to be, to do that?

i would understand if there were only 1 or 2 zones to take.. maybe in a different part of the map, i do wait then too.

but planting their asses on the spawnpoint after only half of the work is done shows me the the game is full of (better not writing that here).

would love it if cryptic would do something about it, but unfortunatly it will never happen.

They don't bother me. So long as they stay out of my way they can hang around to their hearts content.

The players that bug me most in that zone are those that decide to show up when I've nearly done capturing a point solo so they can steal my command credits and bugger off again without even firing a shot.

Those are the lazy b*st*rds. At least those hanging around for dinos intend to actually fight dinos.

what do you expect Cryptic to do about it?

make it so the boss reward is proprtional to the number of pionts captured?

    come on, that is crazy.

I play to have fun and I let others have fun their way. I find taking most of the points is fun, a few of the overhead rail spots are annoying. So if someone wants to wait for Dino's because they only have fun getting stuff for nothing, then I choose to not carry anger or resentment towards them.

They have their fun, I have mine, and we both get rewarded.

Thats what you get for playing a game that rewards anticipation, rather than participation.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

okay these are botters one guy driving a pile of accounts. They are relying on "real live players" controlling only one avatar to take the zone for them. It happens a lot.

If you see a zone with botters like that just move to another one. They aren't all occupied by such groups but I gave some botters a lecture once and they called me a "whiner" because they were all sitting there while i was busy solo capturing zones all around them.

They are quite conscious of what they are doing and react when you call them out in zone chat (dont do it often I did it once because the pile at the rex was insane). They know what they are doing is wrong but they dont really care.

so basically if you run through the city zone (this is where the bulk of botters camp) rex place and see that .. leave the zone.

Just remember its not worth getting your knickers in a twist over such things these people know what they are doing is wrong and taking advantage, but they dont care about you or really what you think or how you feel so I would not bother caring much about them. These zones fail more often then not there days anyhow :)

Yeah this is annoying and happens to me often again they dont care so just carry on. One would think they could code a way to tie credits to the players who actually flipped the area but maybe not.

There is a reason my characters are set to anonymous and I refuse to group in such zones :D

I've always considered the reward system in the Dyson Battlezone to be strange and perhaps even immoral. Worst cases are when those 'waiters' or 'taggers' don't even wait for the people who captured the last point and kill all the dinos so fast, causing the people who actually did something get the lowest reward of all.

Happened to me a few days ago when I returned there after not having been there for months, and I instantly got reminded why I decided to leave that place alone a few months ago.

And then there's of course the stupidity during the last phase. Running around like madmen instead of actually being useful at one big dino spawn point is the way to go, unfortunately.

Then again, if Cryptic changed this in some way, all those taggers probably would start screaming 'they're nerfing Dyson battlezone' 'Here I will draw the line, I'm quitting' and all that.

Best thing you could probably do is find a team that's large enough to fill almost an entire instance. That way only a few if any people will be able to free ride on your efforts.

You guys do know that they did change this this month?

You can not one shot tag anymore. Tagging now requires a good bit of damage.

However the system does still reward rex killers as you can capture no zones kill 2 and get the same reward as if you captured 10 zones. This should be changed to require the capture of 2 zones to get the final bonus reward.

oh good! glad to hear it.
is this more damage than 'leave doffs with mortars, while heading for transporter' damage?
or is it only enough fix to stop the zone hopper teams from dil farming the zone?

i haven't done it my engineer yet. it may be that the engineer can hit and run fast but i've generally needed to be around for 50% of the health. others have managed to tag all 3 but I've got 2 each time.

it would be cool if they fixed the rex issue but considering how people got angry at this recent so called "nerf" I dont know if its worth their trouble to do it. It would be nice if they stopped the commission credit thing though and just awarded some with the marks and dilithium so that people would stop that running in and doing nothing and taking all the credits but then that also would be called a 'nerf' when most of the stuff done in dyson was just a fix to remove some of the issues of abuse.

There are still botters there but they just camp dino's now from what I can see.

Tie it to the reward drop when the zone is captured. Whomever came up with the idea behind the magic fairy rainbow pony coins that rain like magical leprechaun farts from the sky is a complete amateur and should not be allowed to design any future systems.

    +1 for this vote.
