Upgrading [Personal Mobility Shield] converts to normal Shield :(

I recently received a Personal Mobility Shield Mk XI [Cap][Reg] from that rare Duty Officer assignment which gives those as a reward. (Yay!) However, the Shield was still Character Bind instead of Account Bind like most other Personal Shields that are available. I wondered if putting the Shield in the upgrade window would convert the item to Account Bind, and maybe consider upgrading its mark and quality.

Upon putting the Shield in the upgrade window though, the item immediately turned into Personal Shield Mk XI [Cap][Reg], which is a completely different item than it was originally. (NOOOO!!! :mad:) This unintentional item downgrade is confirmed by noticing that the new Shield has lost the +Root and +Knockback Resistance benefits that are characteristic of the Mobility Shields. Yes, it did make the shield Account Bind, but it also turned it into an inferior item than before.

I'm hoping that this is simply a bug with the upgrade system that can be swiftly addressed, possibly with a way to get that Personal Mobility Shield back.

There are some items like this but in this case it actually did you a favor. Don't upgrade it EVER. There is a MUCH better rep shield with the mobility stats.

Counter-Command Personal Shield Mk XII (undine rep tier 1) basically combines the Personal Mobility shield and the Phase-shifted shield.
+43.6 Psionic Damage Resistance Rating
+38.4 Root Resistance Rating
+38.4 Stun Resistance Rating
+38.4 Knockback Resistance Rating

This is still an issue, I just tried upgrading one last week. I've filed at least one in-game bug report about it.

markhawkman's post here also made me realize that this shield still comes as mk XI at level 60. Most (all?) gear from doff assignments is mk XII at that level.
