Not disagreeing with what you said about mocking hate figures, but this forum is owned by Cryptic/PWE and they can indeed arbitrarily ban every single portrayal of hate figures posted here if they choose to enforce it.

Indeed, they can. Another forum I frequent has a blanket ban on Swastikas.... any portrayal results in warnings, and repeated use will get you banned. Site owners can arbitrary ban whoever they want by their own rules on their forum.... that's how things work.

    Nerf is OP, plz nerf
That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.

I call it, the Stoutes paradox.

    Or pineapple slushies! :D

It's ironic that people use Pineapples since those are a tropical fruit that dies if it gets cold.

According to tribble patch notes today

Snowballs are no longer useful in winter wonderland. Not only do they NOT knock down other players after multiple hits but according to the notes they no longer are effective as a weapon in any winter wonderland activity. Apparently you are now forced to buy A snow weapon. I wonder what happens next year when unarmed players enter the WW and can't battle or grind for trinkets to buy a snow weapon.

This is bu*****t. When does this sucking the fun out of STO stop ? The WW is supposed to be a holiday fun zone to escape for a while, why do they need to nerf snowballs ?

If that is the case, I must ask:
So new players must play the pie eating contest a hundred times before they get to enjor the rest of the wonder land?

This was a patch to tribble, not to holodeck (yet)... and no, that would not be the case. The knockback effect is removed in that patch, snowballs still do damage to snowmen, and thus are useful still in combat. Griefers are up in arms over this potential change and blowing it out of proportion as it impacts their ability to grief.

No, they can also participate in the snowballfight and tide of ice, winter invasion and start the assignments to get the winter commodities - except for the assignments they'll probably get a smaller amount of winter commodities (because the reward is related to the number of snowmen someone killed/the damage someone does to the snowmen). And the fast & the flurrious and fastest game on ice don't have anything to do with winter commodities (- running with frosted boots is just a personal preference).

    -

I wonder why some people got so angry about someone attacking them with snowballs.

And I also wonder why snowballs need to be grey as if they were imported from a dirty big city. Wasn't the eye-catching flash enough?

They weren't grey the first week of the event. I don't know what happened to them but that changed last week.

Yeah, I'm sorry. I drank a lot, no toilets in the entire WW, and then, there was this pile of snow...
I know I shouldn't have, but there was no other way. Sorry about that.

Trolls would wonder about such things. They think other people shouldn't mind them manipulating their character. Q and Parmen probably wonder the same thing.

    nvr mind. 10/char

There should really be an option to delete your own posts.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    Wouldn't that be nice?

But you know we'd have trolls baiting people into making bad posts and then deleting their own to make other people look bad.

    {sigh}

Not anymore, they've made the ToI AFKable. I didn't believe it till I tried it, now you don't need weapons, but the snowman battle is a different story- you get nothing if the queen disappears before you kill it, even when it vanishes early. She warped out again last night- a full 3 minutes early. So get out your pepto-bismol and get to eating, only do it when your alone because your likelyhood of getting 10 pies is nill if there's more than 1 other player at the table.

I think it's rather odd that it's only taken a few weeks for Cryptic to respond to a rather insignificant issue like snow balls and implement a solution whereas real issues like Tides being broken and not giving enough rewards fall by the wayside. A good solution to tides would be to turn it into a queued event, up the rewards, and fix the snorg queen final reward glitch. Similarly with snow balls, take away the knockback effect in social zones but give us a snowball fight queued event that rewards ear muffs, beads, etc. for beating the other team. They could even have different types of snowball fights- territory control, death match, and ctf. Essentially, don't take something fun away from us if you can't offer a good substitute.

What makes you think this issue is only a few weeks old? People were complaining last year, too. The simple fact of the matter is that this effect was being used to grief other players, and not just in or during QWW.

You really take things very serious - even ingame - aren't you? It's my 3rd WW event and I noticed just a small amount of ppl I didn't know throwing snowballs at me all the time. Though I'm no telepath or mentalist I don't know if they did it just to be funny, for getting in contact or for annoying me. I went on with the things I wanted to do and that's it. :)

Oh and I bet trolls like you very much, coz you're feeding them! ;)

While I'm glad a dev popped in to see what the fuss was about calling him a hero for saying it didn't happen because it's not in the patch notes is a little of a stretch. But at least they know were talking about it, and I appreciate PWEAdamanteus' reply . Anyway- be kind with your snowballs and don't grief others or we may lose this little gem of fun easteregg we have.

    Merry x-mass all.
