Voyager Quarters, music or clock?

My friend and I were visiting the new quarters for the Voyager set introduced in DR. In the quarters is a standing clock and a gramophone.

In ambient sound my friend heard the clock ticking and I heard the gramophone playing piano music.

Anyone know what determines what you hear and how you can change it?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The position of the camera unless you mean changing the various volume settings, most of which don't work, to filter what sounds you hear and don't hear.

Yeah, so its definitely not camera position. In ambient sound I hear the music and my friend hears the clock. From the same spot, neither of us can hear the other sound. Its definitely something client side, but we did a lot of tests. I always get the music and my friend always gets the clock tick.

We're trying to figure out what causes what and why.

In that case, I would look at the difference between your sound cards and their capabilities. I have both digital and analog sound setups on my PC but using digital, I can't actually get most sounds to change in volume through the game settings by moving the sliders. Voice overs really drive me batty in this game but I can't disable them with digital audio. When i use analog, I can but i find the sound experience isn't as rich.

I appreciate your help, but this is not hardware, this is definitely something going on in the game client. We have looked at youtube videos where the music is playing. The game plays either music OR the ticking clock in the ambient sound in that location. We just can't figure out what about the client chooses what it plays.

Something IN the game is determining whether to play the music or the clock.

In my quarters, I only hear the clock. I never heard the music, ever. I did read somewhere that it was random (it can be either depending on when you enter the room) but I have never had the music play for me.

Maybe it's just RNG. You walk in, dice rolls, you rolled clock, you hear the clock noise this time.

Are you in the same era? Could it be the 71 version plays one version, and the 78 version plays the other?

We are in the same area, standing next to each other in the same instance. We have tried both versions and get the same result.

Outstanding thoughts could be it rolls once and what you get is what you get on that account for... ever.

Another thought is that you hear clock on your own bridge but music on other peoples bridges.
