If a walmart employee unexpectedly barged into my house, grabbed my toaster, and without a comment as to why, or when it will be returned walked out with it, I might be angry.
Is that clever enough for you?
P.S. don't have nothing is a double negative, the stupids is a movie, and you misspelled helpful.
Stop shopping at Walmart. Problem cleverly solved.
Maybe it's just that they were quicker with patching without one CM or salesperson looking over the shoulder asking "When is it done?" or "Does it take long?"
Trust me.
I'm working as a code monkey myself and I know I hate such things - and my usual answer is that I could be done by now if I'm not constantly interrupted.
You do know that with the doff officer you can gain extra boost to dmg right 10% extra dmg is nice. But I do not have the issue of my batteries falling off just running out lol.
I'm playing since launch so yes i do, and there are other and better ways then the exocomp to crank up yr dps :-)
What bothers me is that this.... 'kind of situation' (to put it politely) always seems to happen during Limited Time Events...
During a Hearts And Minds weekend earlier this year - login server went down.
New Romulus Bonus Weekend to celebrate one year of Legacy of Romulus - All the interacts on New Romulus disappeared (and it took them, what, seven months before they fixed the New Romulus Red Alerts).
Now, Winter Event, ideally it only takes 27 of 40 days to collect all three ships... Oh, wait, we're suddenly down to a total of 38 days because two of those days the Holodeck was malfunctioning.
Seriously, who named the primary game server 'Holodeck'? Didn't we learn anything from TNG and VOY? Holodecks ALWAYS malfunction...
"If you can't take a little bloody nose, maybe you ought to go back home and crawl under your bed. It's not safe out here. It's wondrous, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and gross; but it's not for the timid." -- Q, TNG: "Q-Who?"
^Words that every player should keep in mind, especially whenever there's a problem with the game...
For all we know this whole downtime could be automated due to something reaching a critical threshold that requires the server to restart and not a single dev is in office. While an old game, I know a server that does so if there is a critical problem, automatically reboots. Just in the case of a game like this, it takes time, automated or not. Just food for thought, we don't know how this is working.
Seriously, i think theres something going on in Cryptic. I would say its something to do with nobody knowing what to do, so i would blame on the guy whos supposed to know what to do. But hes got no leader skills and the workers know it and its all just chaos in Cryptic atm. And i would like to add theres also something wrong with the motivation and with the spirit among the workers aka devs. I dont blame them...having a slap on the face everytime they see forums cant be good to healt.
Intrested how much therapy does a Dev at Cryptic need ?!
What you are talking about is a moral problem, moral in the workplace is not noticed too much, but if it goes completely funky, well you notice it then
I would guess that they (cryptic US) are being mismanaged and hammered in some way by the foreign parent company.
How? I can only guess, but my best guess is that within the parent company the US subsidiary (cryptic US) is only grudgingly treated well. I'm sure the parent company would be more than happy to farm the work out to places with cheaper labor.
in fact, now that I think about it, I'm sure that's what is happening. all these bugs must be from code merges, some of it from low-rent offshore farms.

Well the most likely explanation is that PWE is not providing sufficient server resources for events, when load is much higher than not-during-events.

Based on Glassdoor comments, Cryptic does appear to be quite micromanaged by the mothership but it's the "big company" kind of management where everybody is allocated a certain amount of time and budget to do 1 project at a time. But this is no different than say Bioware and EA.
Ok, I have had my issues with some recent things in this game just like anyone.. but are we really all going to complain that they're fixing bugs?
Really?
I agree that I wish they would say something on the forums about what they're doing and how long it will take, but I'm surprised how many people blow up because they're fixing bugs.
I understand a lot of the complaints on a lot of issues, but this is one where people really should just calm down.
Well looks like the elachi event just got 10 times harder after this mornings surprise update. Never seen so many people leave the team while playing a round.

they arent fixing anything... they removed the requirement to do the tides 10 times for the unlock... cause they can NOT fix it.
Was working before then they "fixed it" so it would reward folks who participated and not the leechers who just sit there and do jack... instead they broke it and now they are ditching the requirement cause they cant UNDO their fix.
the game is unplayable anyway - the only Thing i do is doffing my 25 chars - i NEED no Fixes for a dumb winter Event. With every fix they break something else anyway.
At least you can play, after nearly a year and a half of little to no issues I've been getting the Gameclient.exe crash for the last several days.

Don't be dis-ingenuous.... it was not working before, it was merely less broke before than after. More like they do not have a fix to actually solve in the short amount of time and have bypassed the requirement for now.
