This guy is a special needs mental case and we should not be posting about him. Every thread created gives him more validation, more entertainment and more of the attention he apparently desperately needs, the best thing we could do is ignore and report him, but we should post nothing about it in the forums, at least let that well run dry.

I've thankfully been spared the challenge spam, mainly because I have zone chat turned off. I've noticed that trolls have become increasingly abundant and brazen. The same problem exists in numerous games and most won't ban because they want $$. Alot of trolls will spend to give their accounts some outward appearance of 'value' to the company so it won't be so easily disposed of.
As much as the few complain very loudly about Cryptics short-comings with this game, there is a growing volume of players that are making this game increasingly distasteful to play. You know what I mean....The Trolls, The AFK'ers, The DPS Ragers and the STF Abandoneers. I don't think I need to mention the odd dedicated fleet that will go out of their way to troll and make things miserable for other players so they can have their sadistic 'laugh'. This one fleet targetted a friend who had lost her child making sick jokes about it openly for many months via various different accounts!
This game seriously needs in-game GM's that can crackdown on these guys at the first sign of troublemaking. The chat 'auto-censoring' is pointless due the numerous variations on spelling and abbreviations people will come up with.
I really love playing this game, as for the most part, it is stress-free gaming. My fleet is slowly growing with people who come on just to play for a couple of hours a day, but the chat is fantastic, so I have no need to activate zone or local chat. It's this sort of experience that I want my guys to have and that everyone should be entitled too! The 'it's only a game and I can say and do what I want without fear of punishment attitude' and the 'it's a fighting/war game and there's no civility fighting/war games attitude' needs to be eliminated NOW.

If a dev wants to see this firsthand, just go incognito into the Winter Wonderland and complain and talk smack about Saint Olivia. Sure enough, the spam will come after a couple of minutes. Hope whomever is causing the spam gets banned.

I never said anything about intention. I am aware that you can give them info and there is no guarantee they will read it.
Heck, Smirk, Al, and 3 GMs have all asked for more information. How much more exactly do they need? Been something like 2 months worth of reporting and still nothing done.

In any other normal game, there are GMs that their only work is to ban troll accounts, at least to make the troll life uncorfotable. But then again, this is a not a normal game..
However, as a programmer, I can think of a few reasons why they might not disable the account immediately.
Then you are a really bad programer, beacose if you create a game and simple well know trolls are free doing what ever they want from months and you dont ban any of their accounts beacose you are waiting and investigating, then sorry to said: you are doing something wrong.

It is more than just a privacy issue at this point. Not only is he purposely impersonating people with the intention of causing strife in game, but he is also spamming the server with fake requests.
We have filed tickets. Like I said, for me this has been going on a month. For others it's been longer. I have no idea why they have not just gone and removed the accounts. I cannot imagine why they would want to keep them around. Even from just people I know and have spoken to because of this, there have been probably hundreds of tickets filed.
Even if you ignore the troll, they can still spam invites and there is no way to stop them.
A thread like this is important so people who are new to the issue can get caught up on it and know what is going on.

No, but if some one defend the inactivity of a company to deal with trolls and if you disagree he invite you to leave the game, makes that person a fanboy.
It seems to me the easiest and most practical solution Cryptic could implement is a PVP option on the player CP... turn it ON if you want to engage in PVP and OFF if you do not. If it's on the OFF position, PVP challenges are insta-blocked.

People here on the forums have come to kneejerk somewhat when it comes to both trolls and white knights. I, myself, have been guilty of it. I admit it. I try to change.
There are some that believe if you do not agree with a pro-game post you are a troll. There are some that believe if you do not agree with an anti-game post you are a Champion of Cryptic, or White Knight. Personally, I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion and it comes down what is said but how it is presented.
There is a difference between posting I disagree with your view on X and this is why and If you crybabies hate it so much then LEAVE! Problem solved!
