Hey Q!, icy floor in Q's gazebo, was that needed?

wylonuswylonus Member Posts: 471 Arc User
i cant tell you how many times i missed several npcs when i get quests or getting updated for rewards, been struggling get to npcs with sliding over or moving back up.

Gazebo look nice, but 2 things i hate it.
one,
the pillar support is in the way in the racing ice track, i bumped into the pillar so many times when nearing the finish line.
two,
the slippy floor, why? Gazebo was suppose to be a "safe haven".

i like the last year floor, it was safer.

even the frosty boots still dont stop sliding on that dang icy floor!!!!

hey Q!, yes, you heard me!

The frosted boots CAUSE sliding. Without them, the gazebo is just like the snow - no slipping anywhere.

It must be this..because the icy floor functions like a normal one..

The debuff one gets from the snowmen causes one to slide around too.

Or another player tossing snowballs at you.

If anyone thinks that they are sliding in the Gazebo without being under the effects of a snowball and/or the boots, they are imagining things.

Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

Uh. . . the icy floor is just visual. It has no powers of slipperiness on you.
Sliding like that is caused by a power. That power is enabled with the boots.
If you're experiencing sliding in the gazebo, either your boots are on, it was a lag spike that caused some minor rubberbanding, or there's a bug in your boots (watch out, they bite).

Lol it's not the bug in the boots that bite, it's the trees you slam into while wearing them that bite :)

Don't worry their bark is worse than their bite.

Only if you don't leaf them alone. ;)

Exactly, just don't plant yourself in one from sprinting around in winter conditions.

Also the posts on the race track were there last year, they were just wooden which effectively made them easier to spot as you slammed into them like i did :p

I don't mind slippery (after all I typically have the Frozen boots on), but I still do have a slight problem with the new 'icey' gazebo:

I have a hard time distinguishing tables, benches, ... from the floor and thus I tend to run into it all (and with Frozen boots on, that then sends you in all directions). Maybe my vision is just deteriorating with age, I don't know, but the previous gazebo was actually much closer to my preferences (I do like wood, even Q's magic wood) and definitely easier to navigate.

(Oh, and please go ahead, I now see my use of the word 'wood' can be seen in less ... distinguished meanings.)

Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

I think its kinda neat, especially when you get shadowy images of things going on underneath or odd distorted mirror like reflections from your own movement.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

It looks nice, but it kinda looks like a Breen got too excited with the freeze gun this year despite it not being actually slippery, more psychological than anything

Just IMO last years design was better...The icicle look and just too much light bluish is a bit overdone. I know Andorians must love the design. Just too much blueish...can make eyes hurt or for some get epileptic attacks...not all of us ARE Andorians you know :)

The gazebo floor is slippery? First I ever heard of that, not noticed a slick spot on it anywhere and have had no issue stopping at NPC vendors

I have heard your complaints about the new WW look. It's a little late to do anything about that this year. I have brought it up to our art lead, and while I don't think we'll get rid of it completely for next year, I think that we can certainly make improvements to the look of things, bring in contrast, and some more wood. I like it The way it is. I'm sure there are plenty of other maps that could use some art time.

More 'wood' any time of the year, is a good thing.
