The Olympia was on an 8 year exploratory mission in the beta quadrant. Long range and cut off from Federation support, and you really believe they sent the most antiquated ship in the fleet? You're clutching at straws and I don't think you understand the meaning of facts.
Why was my thread moved to ten forward? The fleet yards are for discussing ships and that's what we were doing.
Because you were discussing the Constitution Refit as far as the show is concerned not as far as STO is concerned. If you said in the OP, "due to these reasons, then we should get the Constitution Refit as an endgame ship" or something else to link your OP to STO, then it wouldn't have been moved. It might have been locked due to the whole no endgame Constitution rule, but it wouldn't have been moved.
The Olympia could be nothing other other than a Connie refit and it was in service three years before season 6 of DS9. The Connie saucer was never used in its entirety on any ship other than a Connie and you can see it plain as day in the sound of her voice. http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/USS_Olympia
With in show quotes on current era service, two appearances, and a whole family of ships just as old still in service, it's time to stop spreading any word of a class wide decommissioning.
the final point in this, what did the original Olympia actually look like? now if you got hard canon proof of this claim, then sure, otherwise if you got nada, then youre not putting the myth down your just entertaining it like a troll likes to start flamewars about something trivial that wont end.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

The thread could also be considered a defense of Cryptics choice to keep the old bird in service.
Ten Forward is where all non-STO related threads are supposed to be. Any discussion of the Star Trek TV series not related to STO belongs here. Therefore, some mod believed that your thread was not related to STO and so moved it here. You can always PM a mod to move it back by mentioning how it is related to STO.
In the BSG reboot, one long shot of the Rag-Tag Fugitive Fleet included a Connie. Therefore, we should be able to get Jupiter-class Battlestars and Mk VII Viper fighters at endgame.
And since we've now linked BSG and ST, it should be noted that a Firefly-class freighter was seen landing on Caprica (out the window, while Laura Roslin was getting the bad news from her doctor). Therefore, we should be able to find the rather improbable star system from the "Firefly" series somewhere in the Delta Quadrant.
Or, of course, we could acknowledge that sometimes parts of models are reused in order to make effects shots come in on time and under budget, without any further implications. But that's just crazy talk...

My bad I took this as just discussing constitution ships in service in TV books in the 24th century and their possibility beyond that.
Since this is an attempt to get the constitution into the game as a end game ship, and as such violates the FCT, this thread is now closed.

They are. They have similar design language, but they don't look the same.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
Take a look at those images again. Think about it, then tell yourself honestly that those are the same ship.

Canon issues related to our ships have been discussed a million times outside of ten forward. Here's a recent example:
