Ionic Turbulence bugged?

hi all,

the tooltip states it should effect:
-Flight Speed
-Flight Friction
-All Damage Resistance Rating
-Chance to Hold + Repel

a dev-post from some time ago i can't find anymore said it:
- Flies toward target Foe's current location
- The "Out Of Control" effect is an unresistable Hold/Repel. It cannot be cleansed or removed while in effect, and resistances will not reduce its duration. The true counter to this, is to navigate out of the hazard cloud.

nothing implies that it should disable the targets power-activation/abilities (worst part imo in its curent state), though the traybar gets greyed out when one is hit by it for quite a long time.
also nothing says it should chase the target till that gets hit by it, rather it should travel to the targets location in the moment it gets activated. if the targets moves it may not should get affected by it at all.

could a dev plz look into this? thx for reading.

I could have sworn there were more posts on it, so unless it was some sort of group imagination thing going on - have to wonder what happened there. Only thing I could find was it not rocking the world of large objects, and I could have sworn there were multiple posts on that yet I could only find one...don't know what's going on there.

Also, since this was pointed out to look like a space version of the Frictionless Grenade - wasn't this supposed to arrive at the location of the target when triggered rather than follow it as if it were a smart projectile? But the knockdown mechanic from Ground, the "hold" terminology - gets into whether or not this is supposed to be functioning like a Stun or if it should be a Root.

There are some definite difficulties there, imho, on whether this is functioning as intended/designed at this point - and - have to agree some clarification would be great for folks to be able to proceed on how to handle it...cause as of now, well...it appears not to be working as designed - so to speak.

There are more posts on it, it's in the big discussion in the PVP forum.

Using the ground terminology though based on the description it's definitely supposed to be a root. It seems like they got confused and used 'hold' when they meant 'root'- on the ground 'hold' is actually 'disable' which is probably why it's disabling.

aye, at least the interest on clarification seems definetly to be there (though i think virus referred on dev-posts ;)). like 3900 views within 4 days. not sounds much? well, we're talking about a thread in the pvp forums :D...

btw: i'd really liked to know why they not just call disable simply disable... at least anyone would know by then what is meant. but that's just a sidenote ;).

Plus, while affected by disable cloud, you can't even redistribute your shields. You know Devs, it's like the old Subspace Integration Circuit effect, that you fixed 2 weeks later. I get that the cloud has to disable the target, but at least give the players an opportunity to defend himself somehow.
In this state, with all this disable story from intel stuff, PvP is literally dying, so devs, really, do something based on our feedbacks.

the span of opinions seems to make a clarification even more urgent. we all can tell a lot over the day, but without an official statement it's gettin us nowhere.
i kinda hoped they may would had done a statement on this over night. i don't see a good chance we're gettin any reply over the weekend :(.

...probably the best day for such raises seems thursday lol...

APO/A2D and of course Inertial Dampeners Skill should provide immunity/resistance to all the new disable Stuff (Intel or otherwise like Viral Torpedo).

Furthermore, Players should get immun for several seconds(30?) after a successful stun/disable !

Just realized that if they called the hold version rather than the disable version it'd explain why none of the anti-disable powers are resisting it. Ugh, I hate lazy coding.

me immediatly thinks off the web-mines. the dmg-type was from ground first if i'm right (physical or such?), so it not could be resisted in space lol ...

I did some testing in PvE and the disable doesnt seem to work at all there. Only in PvP it works. This should also be looked into, cause the disable seems to be worthless in PvE and destroys whats left of the PvP community due to its broken mechanics.

    regards

as said in the other thread, i checked it with borg-cubes and -probes some time ago (after the roll-effect on larger npc's got removed). large npc's didn't get disabled while the probes didn't do anything under the influence of ionic. i'll recheck that the next days.

btw: could we get a comment what the qa-team thinks about ionic, or even an eta for a check? thx.

It would be one of those things, where either way, it would be better in a sense, eh? Either the "Okay, it's not quite working the way we want it." or the "Lolnubs, L2P!" - cause either would be better than the purgatory between.
