Anyone else miss when Smirk or Trendy would post to let us know when maintenance had begun, how it was going and then when it was complete? Apparently Neverwinter still get that service, it does seems like we're being neglected these days!

Hopefully you didn't visit the NW forums while logged in. If they find out that a STO player found pertinent information about STO from a source other than the STO forums, they will then use *THAT* system to deliver future STO updates! :P

damn, can't recall i've ever seen such a competent post regarding maintenance in sto ever lol . i really like the simple and professional style!
No. No one is in. the servers are maintaining themselves. The bug we see is skynet conditioning us to be ok with the suffering they plan to inflict on us in the future so it can lead us like lambs to the slaughter.
Hey guys, we're going to be having a maintenance tomorrow morning. All three Cryptic games will be having it -- the maintenance itself is for the stability of some of our shared infrastructure, rather than for CO itself.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Hey everyone, emergency account server maintenance has begun. Estimated downtime is 2 hours, but could be extended due to unforeseen issues. We apologize for this unexpected downtime and appreciate your patience.

Update 2 8:01 AM PST Maintenance is progressing as planned. Still looking at the same downtime.
Update 3 8:29 AM PST Maintenance is ongoing. No changes to the estimated downtime.
Update 4 8:58 AM PST Unfortunately it looks like we will not be able to get the servers back up at the estimated time. It could be another 25 mins until we bring everything back. Sorry for the delay.
That would require the STO community managers to actually care about communicating things like server downtime.
Gee ... it's not like STO players might want to actually play the game and be given some type of updated estimate of when they can get back into the game.

You should really take a look at who was quoted...
People always click away pop-ups, they would be better called "pop-aways".
But I didn't say that it gave a specific time frame in the pop-up. But the time in the launcher didn't match with the time I was booted from the game.

There is a post on the Neverwinter forums regarding the Account Server Maintenance. I don't play Neverwinter however I thought I would check their forums as this wouldn't be the first time the STO community were left out of the loop!

check the CO or Neverwinter forums...
I shouldn't have to check forums of other games, which I don't even play, to find out what's going on with one I do play.
That would be akin to checking FOX to find out what's scheduled for NBC.

Agreed. Launcher says see forums. I have been scouring the forums since the maintenance announcement was posted in the launcher last night.
Except we're here... Our community managers have a job to do - which they're seemingly not doing - this is the obvious concern for many here.
